You don't know what mediocrity means. I don't see how you couldn't be excited for this team. It has the potential to be the best team that LSU has put on the field in years. How could you not be excited?

If you want the facts, let’s see.

The defense is talented but people really need to pump the brakes. There are holes, particularly in depth and outside only one proven LBer, CB, and DL, it’s a lot of inexperience or new players. Stands is a very good coach, but overrated at this point.

On offense, you have nothing positive historically to prove Ensminger can run an actual offense anymore. He was fired as a QB coach multiple times, but is magically going to right all of LSU’s ills.

Burrow has no real experience. Jennings and Harris looked ready in garbage time too.

WR talent is there but honestly is unproven.

RB talent is its weakest in like a decade although there are some talented guys, there are no LF7 or Guice type players.

OL is still a mix and match unit and we have no leader at center on the line that is taking it by the horns according to the reports.

All that said, I am not going to make myself buy the BS that O went from the wrist coach in Ole Miss history to a good coach by being an interim coach at two places.

Finally, I believe in the players but I look fully at the stats and not just the parts I like to look at. In the end, that is why I don’t have faith in this staff to make this a great team.

I still will watch the games, but like others have said, I’m not hyped and honestly won’t care really at he resultss. If they win, great. If they lose, I am not surprised and have plenty more important things in my life that deserve the attention and energy I used to give to LSU football. I think that is what most on this side of the argument feel. If the administration is goin to settle and not put in the effort/support fully, why should I?

Sell your tickets man. We need true tiger fans in that stadium to cheer on our tigers no matter who the coach is.

I think LSU football has become fun again...knowing we won’t be running a bland offense that is easily defensed by teams with good from 7’s is exciting

Funny, I'm just the opposite. We were out coached every single year Miles was here. Coach O may or may not be the answer, but he will be a step up. So I'm excited.

So it's not that you actually believe in what Orgeron's putting together, it's just that the possibility of the "Negas" being completely wrong and getting their come-uppance is too tantalizing to not root for?

Lol this years football team is way better than last years going into week 2. Deeper on both lines and LB. Burrow is likely better than Etling and Guice was hurt going into game 1 last season. Quit letting the media and preseason polls tell you what to think. Anyone with a brain realizes LSU has a top 5 D in the country as well as an OC who set records running somebody else’s offense. I’m way more jacked about this year than I was last year.

the fan negativity is actually what I am hesitant about. I don't take kindly to LSU "fans" booing our own players...unfortunately, I expect some of that this year.

True fans are all in all the time...

Hope they change your feelings after the first few games.

I’m always excited for LSU football to start. That excitement will either escalate or decline with the season, but I always anticipate the ride.

Then you should move on to something that makes you happy.

I'm excited every year for LSU football. Sat through the 80's and 90's with my dad and will continue to do so with him in section 410.

I understand. Still excited to see my beloved Purple and Gold take the field. Unfortunately, just have greatly reduced expectations with Coach O leading the charge.

You are or you’re.

Interesting that you couldn’t put anyone on this years team against the national championship squads.
