I know I can't be the only one. I usually have a burning in my stomach for the season to start, reading all the previews online and in print, counting down the days. Just don't feel it this year and it's depressing as hell but it's not there for me.

Maybe it's Alleva, F. King, Ed O., the offensive coordinator debacle, or something else. But I wish I could feel the excitement and anticipation again.

You’re not a true fan if you don’t get excited.

it is what it is, you feel what you feel. I can't say I relate...

As long as LSU has a football program, I'll be excited about getting the season underway and being in Death Valley on Saturday nights.

How can you not get excited about LSU football opening with a team like Miami?

You'll get over it when you hear the ESPN theme and see that scoreboard layout show up.

I don’t feel excitement, that’s for sure. Of course I’ll watch hoping to be surprised.

The fact that you have to express how apathetic you are about this season on an LSU message board just shows that you are not in fact apathetic.

It's good to know that you care.

I’m more ready for LSU basketball. A real head coach with a purpose and direction

Sounds like a personal problem, not a football problem.

Stop listening to objective analysis? What about our own eyes and ears? This program has been run into the ground since the last 3 weeks of the 2015 season and it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

I mean.. it's LSU football. How can a fan not be excited about the season?

Don't see how some.of our fans got so damn spoiled.

Arkansas fans deal with worse than us every year and still get pumped. Probably why they beat us when they aren't supposed to.

Get out of that dumb mentality and enjoy it.

Maybe excitement isn't the word. I'm definitely less ambitious about this year than I ever have been.

Still looking forward to having a drink and eating good while watching the games with friends, but the results will matter way less to me this season. I just don't see it ending well.

The addition of Burrow has me excited. Cautiously optimistic.

I’m the same way.

I just think we are in this cycle of complete mediocrity. We may win a game here or there they we aren’t supposed to (I.e. Auburn last year) and we will lose games we shouldn’t (Troy and Notre Dame) and in the end we will win anywhere from 6-9 games and NEVER be a real factor in the SEC or playoff race.

It is clear that Ed is not a championship caliber head coach and the AD is an absolute joke.

Now I am looking forward to watching the games and hoping for the best. But have zero expectations that this team will be anything other than average.
