Do it. Rip the band aid off! This guy has checked out, and must go immediately!

I don’t disagree. He’s been done.

It
Will
Not
Happen

He will be given the option to retire when the season ends but he will not be fired at the start of the season

I always say don't know who the best coach in college baseball is. I don't think it's Mainieri, but I certainly don't think he's a bad coach. He has made changes more than once to change with the game. I don't know what the problem is. Maybe he has gotten too tired for the game. There is absolutely no damn excuse for the performance the last two games. In the last few years it's a reoccurring theme. We face some junk ball thrower and he ends up looking like Cy Young against us, throwing the game of his life. The kid for Nichols set his career record for strikeouts against us Wednesday! I was optimistic and hopeful about the new hitting coach. Did we waste our money? Has he even met the players yet, because I'm pretty sure he hasn't given them an ounce of instruction

Well, I sat back and watched last night and couldn't help but feel I was watching last year's team in terms of hitting, the scenarios the players were in and getting the same results as last year. Bases loaded, 1 out and all get stranded, runners first and second, get stranded and in the same manner, outs that didn't result in advancing the runners so maybe the next guy up has a chance with a hit to score someone. I'm not passing judgment on anybody just yet, just an observation of the game last night. The timely hits in those situations are just few and far between right now and that will need to definitely improve as the season goes on. The pitching has looked pretty good so far and certain guys look phenomenal.

I like what we have on this team. I think we’re built for the post season. We go through this every year, we’re still figuring it out. I love the roster.

Let’s just wait until after a few SEC series to make an assessment on CPM’s future. There are 50 games to go, it’s a long season, and baseball is a long process. I understand everyone is frustrated because we have the best program in all of college baseball, and we expect nothing but greatness from our teams, but let’s just give it a few weeks. A lot can change in a few weeks

CPM's whole demeanor is cringe worthy. They say a team takes the personality of their coach if true this will be a long season. Last night a perfect situation to bunt 2 runners over in a 2-0 game with Hampton at bat and he doesn't do it.

I wish he would've taken that Texas job 3 or so years ago.

He should have stepped down last year and he could have left with a bit of dignity. This could get ugly this year but this team has a few talented arms that might save his arse.

He's not a recruiter. He's doesn't appear to be a motivator. He's just not a good coach anymore. The days of LSU recruiting itself are over and we need someone to breathe some life into LSU baseball
