He entered the game on our third offensive possession last weekend. The score was 3-0. That drive started on the 20 yard line, and we went three and out. He threw a 1 yard pass and a 2 yard pass. That was not him at a disadvantage.

The next possession is where we started on the 3 yard line, and we went three and out.

He was back in for his third straight possession, started at the 35, score 10-0, he picked up a first down on his first throw, then ran twice for a yard, then threw and incompletion.

So three drives, normal field position on two of them

You do realize that none of this is accurate and that there are websites that keep track of all of this information so you don't have to go purely by (clearly faulty) memory.

I like the decision here to give a kid who has looked more like a future starter the reps...good, bad or ugly

Just a serious question, how do you know Johnson wouldn’t have looked just as good/better against USC or Arky? It’s based on those two games as to why you want Finley, but do you really think Johnson wouldn’t have looked great against those two?

To be fair, our only touchdown came when they backed off

If you don’t think Jimbo and the figs wanted to pitch a shutout then I’ll gladly have some of the chron you are smoking.

Go rewatch our last drive, they were definitely trying very hard on defense.

Agreed, the Aggies wanted to beat us alot more than 20-7. Not many thought the Tigers would cover the spread.

Coaches watch practice everyday and evaluate these guys.

MJ has been sacked more in less reps, so TJ makes sense.

The coaches will obviously put the best guy out there and they've decided thats TJ at this point.

They're both Tigers, so lets support the guy that will be starting for us,

If MJ is better, things will sort themselves out

Any time our team is playing this year is garbage time. Johnson looked better on Saturday.

I can’t take anyone saying this after last game seriously. Johnson literally did nothing but his little runs that we think are somehow effective.

TJ is so clearly a better QB. Johnson plays nervous to me. I’ll roll with Finley and his potential mistakes. He’s a freshman behind a garbage line. He’s doing the best he can trying to make things happen.

If Johnson plays I don’t see us crossing the 50.

It won't matter who they start. But whoever was pushing some narrative that Johnson was a quick and elusive running QB like Taysom Hill needs their eyes checked. He didn't look much faster than Jarrett Lee to me.

I must be remembering wrong, but I thought our only touchdown in the game was a pass from Johnson to TM. Refresh my memory on that one if you would please.

Finley obviously has all the physical tools and I think has a lot of potential, but Johnson was just better last Saturday. TJ threw a bad pick 6 which basically ended the game. He completed 9-25 for only 36% with two picks. Johnson completed 63% of his passes and scored our only TD. His QB rating was more than double TJ's. He was just better against aTm.

The O-line and running game was awful against aTm, so I don't really blame either QB, but I have to be honest, for that particular game, Johnson was better.

Are talking bout the Texas a&m game , one poor pass and one td take away , and the game could of been 14/13 LSU seriously, by 30 points

MJ should start. I believe he is the better athlete, with better football instincts. Can't afford to lob weak passes over the LOS in the middle of the field in the shadow of your own goal posts. Alabama will feast on Finley. Of course, neither will be able to "function" very well with the hot garbage offensive line we have.

max johnson looked good in garbage time. He took a horrible sack earlier in the game. finley makes better decisions and is more accurate.

Finley will start. It’s going to be up tempo with set player packages not allowing Bama to substitute on D. Get ready to see Gilbert in the WR slot and go to him often.
