Amazingly different opening press conference than BK and Les. BK was extremely arrogant, and Les seemed mentally retarded. Future press conferences were no better for either of these dudes.
With CEO, I was hoping against hope that a true Cajun could be the kingpin of LSU football. Just wasn’t meant to be, but 2019 was magical on his nickel!!!
Kiffin was right on point tonight. Struck a balance of humble, funny, confident, respectful of OM and LSU, excited, energetic, and raring to go!
This is the best I’ve felt about an LSU head coaching hire…maybe ever. And I’ve been going to LSU games since the mid 1960s.
Kiffin has the potential to build a powerhouse at LSU!

No doubt about it and well said.
I still believe his best coaching years are ahead for him, he is only 50.
Nick Saban was a lesser known commodity at the same age.
He may still have aspirations of the NFL one day, but maybe he can get us in Title before then.

Yes and get ready LSU will be primetime football. Too bad we don’t play Bama every year anymore. That game had a lot of major implications over the last decade and change. Auburn and Florida were good games we played every year and not anymore.

His heart hasn't healed yet but he knows he made the right choice

I said this same thing less succinctly over in CCB.. it’s nice to have an actual human being for a coach.

It’s the first coach we have had since saban that specializes in one side of the ball. We have seen glimpses of what LSU could be with a competent offensive play caller. However, we have not seen it on a consistent level. Kiffin will bring consistency to the offensive side of the ball and if he can match it on the defensive side, we are looking at a bama type run.
The biggest difference between Kiffin, Golesh, Sumrall and the other offensive type coaches that were out there is experience. Those coaches may do well in the SEC, but from what we have learned it’s no guarantee. Kiffin is the closest guarantee there is because he has been in the SEC for 10+ years at Tenn, Bama and Ole Miss. He worked it from the top half of the league to the bottom half and built a bottom half team to the top half. He knows exactly what it takes, who to hire and where to hide the bodies. No offense to Golesh, Sumrall and others. They may be great hires but there will be a learning curve.

When he spoke about the drive from airport to Tiger Stadium and Ops building sent chills down my spine

I must admit I've hated Lane through the years simply because of his smugness and pomp. I haven't been fully on board with his coming to BR.
I listened to the entire introductory presser yesterday and am surprised with myself how much I've turned around. Although he had to read a prepared script what he had to say was impressive. I'm on the Train!
