They were not 1 spot from making in 2023. Liberty gets the 12th spot based on current rules and then LSU is 14th at best in reality.

It's not about being top 12. You have to be in the playoffs.

I'm not saying we would have been in.

Preston Guy said "LSU hasn’t even sniffed it in four seasons," and that's just not true.

In 2022, LSU would have been in a win and get in situation and in 2023, LSU would have been one of first teams out, both of which "sniffing" around a playoff spot.

The expectation at LSU is to be one to the top 12 qualifying teams for the playoffs. Not being one of those 12 qualifying teams, alone, is enough to bash Kelly.

There's no need for the exaggeration in saying he has never been/would have never been close to qualifying as one of those 12 teams.

That’s my fear you can already tell each season further we go, they regress with mental toughness and basic football acuity. It’s not rocket science, got to cut the dead weight and then have a come to god moment for Woodward preferably cut him lose too.

This is good info but please remove Saban from the these stats.

He inherited a team that had won 3 SEC games total in 2 years.

It was a total and complete rebuild, none of the others inherited anything like that and Kelly has the benefit of the portal which Nick did not.

We had 1 SEC win before his arrival and within his first 4 years Saban had 2 SEC titles and a natty when you had to be in the top 2 to play for it (not 12) and that was when you had to build thru only high school recruiting.

To compare Saban to these other bozos is upsetting if you lived through the Archer, Hallman, Dinardo years and know where we were when he arrived. He built the thing, these other guys had it easy in comparison and thus don’t deserve to be compared based on wins and losses.

While Sloan is ineffective, the limited physicality Nuss has is glaring and the play calling reflects the liability that is Nussmeir.

I would say the limited physicality of the OL is much more glaring

Very true, but the QB has NO ability to mentally and physically overcome that and execute the simplest read progressions.

It’s the OC more than QB

It’s at least both equally. That sack at the 9:40ish mark in the first quarter was straight garbage. Nuss had an open field in front of him and instead of running or even throwing it away he basically took a knee so he wouldn’t get hit. Nobody touched him before his knee hit the ground. Just terrible.

I don't think anyone would be in this situation.

On top of that abysmal record he’s managing to do this during a time when the SEC is down and we’ve avoided playing some of the more dominant teams.

He’s losing to the mid-range guys and wimpy ACC and BIGTen teams.

He’s pathetic and needs to be gone.

I think Joe Burrow was going to win a natty no matter who was the coach or the OC .
