I think he compares much more to a rangy off the ball backer. His top end is probably more in the mold of someone like Fred Warner or (Darius) Shaq Leonard.

Right now they are just getting him in situations where he can think less and play fast.

Exactly, no he isn’t on Parsons’ level but that’s the mold he’s in. He already has as many sacks as Parsons did his freshman year and Parsons was a full time player as a freshman.

I think you are right on, Parsons was the comp I came up with after Saturday as well.

This kid has great potential to be an outstanding LB, he just needs to keep playing and getting better, and better. He will be a 1st round pick without a doubt when his time comes in the NFL draft.

Young Tigers may not remember Michael Brooks, but Perkins is very much in that mold.

Brooks was damn near unblockable before A&M wrecked his knee. He was still a nightmare after surgery.
