saw the whole thing from start to finish. The off duty copy stood up at some point, told the Dad “I’ll slap the frick oucha” , then challenged him to come down to the portal to fight. The Dad had his whole family there, didn’t move. The off duty cop, unsatisfied with him unsuccessfully goading the Dad to “stepping outside” to the portal, came back to the seats, and hit him with a straight right hand in front of his family. As you can imagine, the Dad’s kids were crying and shook up.
I was 4 rows above the fight in section 102 and saw and heard the whole thing. I am going to call EBRSO tomorrow and offer up a statement. The off duty LSP was 1000000% the aggressor and in the wrong.
both of you need to file statements. please post back here once done. TYFYS.

Some background, when I first attended games as a child 50+ years ago, there seem to be numerous fights and excessive liquor at games. What I don't recall there being was crude language to any noticeable extent. There may have been an "oh sh!$!" or "SoB" but 'bout it.
Fast forward. When I began taking my children to games (as young as 3), I explained to them there would be things heard at games that they were not allowed to repeat. It worked
My father is certainly not afraid of a four letter word. But he never dropped the F-bomb in front of me as a child, nor did he use vulgar terms. He still doesn’t today. I’m the same way with my kids, and I try to always be cognizant of my language in public. Particularly with kids around. I won’t pretend I’m perfect, but I try to be very aware.
When I first started going to LSU games as a child 40 years you would hear cursing. But rarely was it vulgar. However, with each passing generation it appears what is deemed “acceptable”, particularly in front of kids, becomes more and more vulgar. Have I said “BS” or “GD” or “SOB” at a ball game. Yep! But I’m never going to go on a vulgar tirade like what you can hear now at almost every LSU game.
Hell, you have adults and kids alike desperately wanting to shout STTDB at any chance they get. It’s not funny, or “intimidating”. It’s classless and pathetic. There is normal, heat of the moment, regrettable outbursts. Then there are the trashy bozos who can’t speak a single sentence without cursing.
I know I can’t protect my kids from foul language. But I do make it a point to teach them that if a person can’t hold a conversation or be in public without speaking a steady stream of cursing and vulgarities that’s not a person you want to associate with.

I'm so old the games were social events , folks dressed to the nines , everyone knew everyone in their immediate section. Bourbon in flasks was the norm. Never heard profanity outside of 'Go to Hell, Ole Miss, go to Hell' which surprised me given my upbringing

Speaking of the vulgarity, they are even selling those cheesy "F arouond and find out" shirts outside the stadium for $25

What point in the game did this occur? And how high or low in section 102? I’m in 100 and didn’t see this. Seems like if it was as big as it sounds I should have at least heard something.

I remember after Auburn or Georgia by the old airplane spot there was a brawl after the game. 97 or 98 I think. We sat on the west side at the bottom. We had the same gate keepers, same Marshall in our area, hell same sheriffs deputy. We also had the same people sitting around us for years and years. I know not all parts of the stadium are like this but if we gave our tickets to someone and hear they were cussing or acting a fool, we just never gave them tickets again. Now with stubhub etc… it’s easy to sell but you have different people every game sitting in some seats.

Amen to you! Seems the majority are not like this any longer. Being aware in public is a lost art form.

I was at the game with my 9-year old son and can't say we heard a ton of vulgarity, nothing out of the norm. The F-around and find out shirts are a problem though. As the guy selling them is screaming out the F-word, my son looked at me and said, dad why would anyone wear a shirt with the F-word on it. I said some people can't be helped, and if you see someone with it on, there probably someone we want to avoid. Anyway, this started at Saints games i can remember a few years back. Just surprised to see this outside of Tiger Stadium (but I guess everything changes).

I remember they would remove you if you alone were way out of line. Now if the entire stadium was pissed and yelling where we sat it would be ignored.
All that situation would’ve take is if the guys were spilling drinks, go tell one of the security guards. If they were drunk, the security guards would’ve removed them.
I saw a drunk guy back in the 90s get thrown out, he had extra tickets and would sneak back in and they’d throw him out again.

I cuss, too much. But I promise you I won’t say anything around your kids or out in public. My kids get a few to prove my point.
But the amount of F bombing and other crap makes it uncomfortable at times. I don’t understand the need to do it.

From someone sitting next to the incident.
Number 1: The guy in the purple shirt instigated the whole situation. The guy with the mustache followed his misdirected lead. Both were highly intoxicated. They were dripping beer on and continually touching the couple in question (trooper and wife). The trooper asked them politely to stop doing what they were doing. The guy in the purple shirt with blonde hair continued to escalate the situation and the guy with the mustache again followed his lead.. They were asked multiple times to stop. They had children with them and should have acted accordingly. The guy with the mustache took off his glasses and stood up with balled fist ready to punch... these people were in someone else's seats and arrived in these seats after halftime, when the original owned had left. They were rude, space invaders looking for a fight, making multiple remarks trying to instigate! The trooper and his wife never raised their voices or cursed as people have mistakenly reported on this website.
Btw: they guy in the purple shirt pushed the troopers wife down the tunnel. The altercation was a mere blink of second, couldn't have lasted longer than a minute of time.
It is so horrible to see people that have no idea others characters come for them with no remorse.. it shows no common love or knowledge of compassion. We should ask more questions rather than ASSuming answers.

FTR, this version contradicts multiple other eyewitness accounts in this thread. Are y'all describing the same incident?

I sat behind that trooper in Vegas. We all cheered and booed together. He was never out of control. The personality I saw does not mesh with this incident
Edit: fortunately I didnt spill any beer, could have been me

Sounds like it, or a friend of his. He has 1 post. It all sounded like bullshite when zero points in his story overlap with other accounts of what happened that were shared here.
Posted on 9/24/24 at 7:58 am to Geauxlsu14
Hearsay bullshite. That account has been contradicted by multiple eye witnesses in this thread.

But why did he do that? Something had to cause him to stand up and say that…it was just a random picking out some guy and saying that
