Not true. This happens every year at every program. You are only hearing about this one because Kelly is allowing media members to stay at practice longer this year.

As long as no one got hurt and it doesn’t carry over shouldn’t be a big deal

“We was at spring practice, one of the hottest practices ever,” Queen said via the Ravens official Twitter account. “JaCoby (Stevens) blitzes and hits Joe, they get up wrestling and stuff. Coach O stops them and is like ‘hey, don’t hit Joe’. So Joe (is) over there sitting, talking trash and I’m over there like ‘OK, cool’. So the next play comes, I hit Joe. Boom. On purpose.

“Coach O is like ‘don’t hit Joe, I’m not gonna say it no more.' So we’re like OK, we get back in the huddle, ‘we’re hitting Joe again.' So Joe rolls out on a pass, throws the pass, it's complete, I push him. Start talking trash, start jumping in his face doing like a cowboy dance in his face and stuff. All I see is him reach back and boom, punches me, with the face mask on and everything. I looked back and said, ‘Joe really just hit me.' Next thing you know we were all wrestling, we’re on the ground fighting. I got Joe in a headlock and he’s sitting there punching me in the stomach.”

This occurs when there is coaching weakness.

Brian Kelly needs to regain control.

According to Shea, Kelly tore into the team after the fight in front the media. Told them they’ll go 0.500 if the leadership and discipline on the team doesn’t improve. Not sure how much that was for show because of media or if he was serious.

Or it was exactly what Kelly said it was, a lack of leadership. All the media is saying the fight went on longer than anticipated/needed too. It is safe to assume the coaches allowed it to continue as a teaching moment to expose said lack of leadership. Time will tell if the tactic was successful.

Seems like stupidity to be blasting your quarterback on purpose but aight.
