Some think Tolkien’s work is full of Christian symbolism, but I hypothesize it’s really just a foreshadowing of the greatest team/season of all time.

In fact, I believe that Tolkien stole most of his ideas from what was to be the greatest success story of the bayou.

This leads me to the following conclusions:

Tolkien = Coco Orgeron - the creator, the origin of story, language, culture created

Frodo = Ed O - ever the protagonist, his charge is to secure the ring

Bilbo = Coach Robinson - a legend and a hero to Frodo (Ed O) with countless stories from years past, he sets the tone for a culture that transcends generations. In a much more lighthearted time, he previously secured the ring.

The Shire - Indian Mounds tailgate

Samwise Gamgee = Stevewise Ensminger - a great friend aiding Frodo (Ed O) even to the depths of Mordor to secure the ring. Puts ego aside for the greater good.

Aragorn = Burreaux - a ranger from the unbeaten path finds his true home with the help of some mangey boys and takes the crown which was rightfully his the whole time

Liv Tyler/Arwen Evenstar = Joe Brady - hot young rising star in the industry hooks up with the ranger (Aragorn/Burreaux) and works behind the scenes to secure the ring. Even though she is, by the end, sacrificed for the greater good, she leaves hope for the fellowship in her passing off of the Evenstar necklace. In the movie, she gives that pendant to Aragorn but in the novel, Frodo is the recipient. I think we choose to follow the novel here, as it is our hope that Ed O (Frodo) takes with him the love passed from Brady to our progrum.

Elrond = Shaun Payton - ageless face, neither young nor old. Father of Arwen/Joe. Both massive Kenny Chestney fans.

Theoden = Arranda - King of the Defense
“Arise, arise, Riders of Théoden!
Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter!
Spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to New Orleans!”

The Rohirrim = Defense - a calvary of prized horses who, after much debate and negotiation, were instrumental in securing victory

Gimli = Clyde - aside from their similar body-types, he is the beloved and gritty warrior

Legolas = Jamarr Chase - silky and smooth, even the most difficult things are made to look like cake for this fearless fighter

Gandalf = Woodward and the Athletic Department - Inspired after undergoing a serious change after experiencing major loss. Lose a natty, repetitively lose to rival, lose head coach … what did we make of it?

Isengard - Tuscaloosa

Sauroman = Saban - He may be stronger than Woodward 1v1 but with the Fellowship of the Tigers: AD/Coarch/Team haha .. no chance! In fact, the 2019 Bama game was essentially the Battle of Helm's Deep in which we saw the elimination of Sauroman and his forces.

Pippin / Merry = Hype videos and the fanbase. Both present at the battle and both proper distractions from the main event but so so important to the outcome

Eye of Sauron = Ray Baker - Rays out, ready to bake your arse if you don’t respect him

Gollum = Dabo - Previous owner of the ring after sneaking away with it and then trying to steal it from the real tigers at the last second only to die in Mt Doom when he thinks he has it

Superdome - Mt Doom

Kelly Orgeron = Boromir - Not much needs to be speculated here but it should be said they played key roles in supporting the main characters and were sacrificed for the greater good
