Optics of firing second OC in 2 years
Posted on 6/12/19 at 8:35 pm to Goldrush25
I don’t think he forced the Idea on E
I think E can kinda see what’s working in college football
But it’s one thing to see it and another to make your own offense based on concept that you’re not completely familiar with.

The thought of handing it over or using it as a tutoring session for a glorified GA in 2019 or 2020 is mind boggling, but I guess this is the new normal.
Everyone saying in the national news Coach O is off the hot seat should wait and see how hot that seat get's if he drops 3-4 games this year.

Paired with the right OC, co-coordinators might work out well like at Clemson

And last year was Cragg and his Super Bowl Ring.
He went nearly insane trying to get that super bowl ring to add a notch in Edward's ole belt...
According to Ree, the best moves that Orgeron makes is and always will be the very last move that O just made.

This whole thing makes no sense to me. Joe Brady was hired to be the OC in waiting, and could take over as soon as next year, yet he has never called plays and had never recruited before(has he signed anyone to date?). But yeah the plan is for that guy to be our offensive coordinator in the next one to two years after being mentored by are current mediocre offensive coordinator. Meanwhile we're competing against offensive coaches like Mullen, Fisher, Moorehead, Gus, Saban(Four of these guys coached a Heisman player FWIW). And this actually sounds like a good idea to some people?
Pretty much

Never ever ever ever do co-ANYTHING. There is nothing worse than co-coordinators. That’s been proven
Bama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, etc. regularly use co-OC's

Clemson has co-coordinators

Would you consider that a statistical outlier? It isn't very often you see co-coordinators workout.

Most offensive material need head coaches are de facto co-OCs.

What is Mickey Joseph doing?
What will Brady be doing on Gameday? Will he be involved in personnel groupings? If so, will that be E, Joseph, Brady and O all having a hand in the WR personnel groupings?

Still, Ensminger being here in the first place is an unnecessary pathway towards what you want to do, if that's not the philosophy in which he's versed.
We're taking the most convoluted, roundabout path towards the destination instead of taking the shortest route there.

No.
Nearly every program in contention for the playoffs regularly (but not always) use co-OC's. The outlier would be top programs who don't.

If the head coach can be considered a co-OC, and since O is involved with the offense, are O and E co-OC’s?
Posted on 6/12/19 at 9:13 pm to 225Tyga
I think he was a good hire. It's one thing to say you visit with x team and get some ideas. Totally diff to have a guy see your players everyday and in meetings everyday to help bring new ideas.
My issue is with the people thinking he's just going to overhaul the offense and we are going to look like the saints.
Even if he did, what does it say about E? So far the Canada and E experiments have not moved this offense forward.

There is no "right" formula; every team is different. Clemson has co-offensive coordinators. Bama had co-offensive and co-defensive coordinators in 2018. In 2019 Bama has two associate head coaches and an associate defensive coordinator.
This board keeps wringing its hands over such trivial things.
