Lmfao Peterson was an NFL quarterback for a decade and had been coaching in the NFL for almost a decade. He hadn’t been a high school coach since 2008 he wasn’t just removed from it.

Even Sean Payton himself couldn't say much about what Brady did for him when asked about it yesterday.

He said he brought good insight to the passing game, was a tremendous worker, could be relied upon for intro related to What other QBs were doing and other systems and had a good background relevant to the RPO.

He also said

quote:

”Joe brought a ton of information for us,” Saints coach Sean Payton said. “Did a great job. He was involved in a lot of the breakdown of opponents. A lot of the drawings. He had coached in college. He was every familiar with some of the RPO game. Added a lot to our staff.”

Idk What else you want for an after practice press conference answer. A fricking full speech prepared?

He was being a dick so the questions will cease. It's been six months now.

"Per LSU insider Michael Detillier, the Saints didn’t just expect Brady to leave, they offered ringing endorsements: both Saints head coach Sean Payton and receivers coach Curtis Johnson gave Brady their recommendation when he interviewed with LSU for the position, as well as Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael.

The Saints will feel this loss at some level, but overall it’s a good development. Healthy coaching staffs want to see their team members move on to bigger roles and find success of their own. It’s part of being a winning team."

Saints losing offensive assistant Joe Brady to LSU Tigers

quote:

Last summer, Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff gathered inside the Tigers football facilities for a presentation. It was to learn about the New Orleans Saints offense from their offensive coordinator, Pete Carmichael, who had coached with Orgeron when they were both Saints assistants in 2008.

Carmichael brought along a young and fervent offensive assistant, who at one point took over the presentation and captivated the LSU coaching staff with his command of schemes and strategies.

The impression lasted for nearly a year, and Monday, that assistant was formally announced as the replacement for passing game coordinator Jerry Sullivan, who retired in early January.

Meet LSU's newest (and youngest) assistant football coach, Joe Brady; 'He's an innovator'

Brady’s endorsements come from head coaches like New Orleans’ Sean Payton and Mississippi State’s Joe Moorhead. Speaking to several coaches, Brady usually earned more responsibility than his small roles called for.

“There’s obviously people in high places singing his praises,” said Trevor Andrews, who was a defensive assistant at William & Mary for 18 seasons. “We won’t put our name behind somebody as coaches if that person isn’t ready for it.”

As I said he was an analyst.

He had coached in college.
A third of that time was spent coaching linebackers.

Yes, Moorehead's RPO game. The same coach to effectively ruined the offense that Mullen had been running at Mississippi State.

I'm not saying that Brady is a bust and he's an idiot and doesn't know what he's doing. I just think this talk of him being the OC in waiting for next year is ridiculous. He hasn't proven he can do a damn thing by himself. We see plenty of coaches who make great assistance and terrible head coaches, yet with nothing proven this guy who was got his coaching start 5 years ago is good enough to be LSU's OC in waiting?

He didn’t ruin Mullen’s offense he tries to fit his players into a different scheme.

Which is different.

His offenses at Penn State were fricking good though.

He wowed the coaching staff and he’s retooling the offense.

If it goes well he’s going to be OC.

Could you imagine if we hire a guy, the offense improves, and no one would be looking st him as an OC?

That doesn’t even mention the criticism of his inability to teach WRs what a “route tree” is.

Or when he actually started Jeremy Johnson as QB.

It’s been called the worst kept secret in the program. Steve is retiring and Joe will take over after he gets some experience calling plays and the like.

Wait...so is he gonna be involved in play calling or not? I’ve seen several posters say otherwise. They’ve swore is just the passing game coordinator. Others have said he’s bringing in an innovative, new scheme.

Which is it?

Why would someone get upset at bringing up a head coach’s resume?

Makes no sense.

Let’s be real if there is an innovative scheme next year it’s not coming from the holdovers on staff.

I think the worst kept secret was after the A&M game in 2017 when they swore up and down Canada wasn’t leaving.

But that’s just me.

I don’t disagree. I’m just trying to get an answer as to what Brady’s role really is.

There was an entire thread a week or so ago about him bringing an innovative scheme. When the question was posed as to why we needed that when just last year we were told scheme and playcalling were not the problem, several posters insisted he was just tinkering with the passing game as passing game coordinator.

Now this thread, we’ve got folks saying he’s gonna have a hand in play calling.

Just curious as to what his role will be.

Actually yes I can. After every new hire I imagine this is going to be the guy who fixes it. I've done it for the past two years with Canada and Sullivan. And we've seen how that turned out. Speaking of Sullivan, I wonder how many glowing reviews he got considering he's got a 30-plus year NFL coaching career.

I can't wait for the inevitable melt from this board when our offense comes out and looks the exact same as it always does.

Passing Game Coordinator/Wide Receivers

Joe Brady, who spent the past two seasons with the New Orleans Saints, joined the LSU staff as passing game coordinator and receivers coach in January of 2019.

Brady will work alongside offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger in the overall development of the Tigers offense, while also assisting Mickey Joseph in coaching the LSU wide receivers. The youngest full-time coach on the LSU staff, Brady is an innovator that has learned offensive football from some of the best in the game.

In his short coaching career, Brady has worked under Sean Payton and Pete Carmichael with the New Orleans Saints, Joe Moorhead (now the head coach at Mississippi State) at Penn State, and Kevin Rogers, who coached Brett Favre at the Minnesota Vikings.
