Purple ties Gold 1-1 in 5 innings.
Due to BR Traffic, I missed the first 1.5 innings of today's scrimmage. Therefore, I will provide stats for what I saw from that point.

RF Duplantis 2-2 sb
1st Jordan, Bryce 1-1
SS Smith 2-2 RBI
DH Webre 0-1
C Doolittle 0-1 1K
3rd Slaughter 0-2 1K
2nd Woley 0-2

Pitchers
Peterson 88mph 3IP 1H 1ER
Petersen 89mph 2IP 2H 1K

Gold
3rd Hughes 0-1
2nd Broussard 1-1
C Feduccia 0-1 1K
LF Jordan, Beau 1-2 RBI
SS Reid 0-2
1st Templet 1-2
DH Doughty 1-2

CF Richard 0-2

Pitchers

One batter of the first 7 for Purple reached base during the first 2 innings but did not score.
One batter of the first 4 for Gold reached base but did not score.

Hopefully Feduccia starts at catcher. Doolittle kid can’t hit that well.

Is this a typical year where a freshman arm comes in and lights it up?

Both Gilbert and Hess looked promising last year and to a lesser extent Walker looked good during scrimmages.

Right, I was just wondering if the streak of big arms was continuing. Not many programs churn out MLB pitching talent like LSU. It's almost a given that some 18 year old kid walks on to campus throwing 94 mph with wicked breaking stuff.

Dolittle is the future. Does he need work hitting? Sure. But it’ll come. He will start plenty this year.

I think as long as Allen Dunn is here, we will continue to recruit highly ranked pitching prospects. Hopefully, they will opt for college rather than pro ball.

Thanks ScubaTiger. Love the reports.

Bryce is having a pretty special fall so far.

I like the potential of this kid. Late addition to the class out of an Arizona JUCO. Lefty in the high 80s, high K rate in JUCO. Was his teams closer. I think he will be a late inning reliever for us.
