I was listening to Outside the Box with Hanny and Hunt this morning and at the end they said the NCAA has passed a new rule that may go into effect this offseason that teams will be allowed to schedule two games against another school during the fall.

I tried to find something on this but couldn't, can anyone confirm? Is it this offseason or next that they can do this?

Lsue and either san jac or chipola would be my preference.

LSUE is a good one. BRCC would be a no-brainer but I'm not sure about the relationship between the coaches.

It was the SEC not the NCAA which passed the new "two fall games" policy.

The two games cannot be against a SEC member.

Count me in. I'm already preparing to melt when CPM pulls Marceaux after 3 dominating innings. I think he should use these games to practice his ability to pull pitchers at the correct times.

Schedule a DH against Tulane or ULL and both teams are going to throw a lot of pitchers to get work and I'm guessing most will be newcomers to see how they can do.

I don't need to see Hess, Peterson, Duplantis amd Watson, I know what they can do.

But you have no problem with them playing/pitching in multiple intersquad scrimmages throughout the fall?

Who knows, LSU might be better off having intrasquad srimmages with the Purple Gold World Series

LSU can still do both.....play two games against other teams and still have intra-squad scrimmages and the P&G World Series.

I remember LSU playing a fall weekend series against the US Naval Academy in the late 70's. Some teams from up north may be interested in a fall southern trip.

Not only that, but they could schedule something like a 16 inning game against LSUE if they wanted to.

ETA: Arizona St has done scrimmages like that with some of the Arizona JUCOs, and lost those games.

They could always do this, or is it a new thing?

And that 16 inning game would be considered one of the two games?

I think I remember seeing Texas play a couple Fall games against someone else last year on the LHN.

They can but that would limit the time of other practices that week. There's a limit on how many hours per week teams can practice.

A few years ago Southern Cal fired their head baseball coach for practicing his team more hours than the NCAA limit.

Leave it to the NCAA to name such a rule the "Countable Athletically-Related Activities" hours rule.
