Correct. The coach said to judge him year three. This is year four.

Coach also said he has receipts. I expect a playoff game this year. If not, he failed.

If we can't make top 12 with this group? "Hey Kelly, get your arse in my office."

Agree this season LSU needs too make some noise while actually making to the playoffs it would be criminal if not. This isn't all on Kelly though the paid professional athletes need to perform as well.

No way LSU is getting rid of Brian Kelly. Not in 2025 or 2026.

Our cfp shot will be determined @Clemson, @OMiss, @Bama, and @Oklahoma.

Sounds a bit... optimistic

I posted something similar prior to baseball season, saying LSU's expectations in baseball should be Omaha every season, and a title fairly often.
I got a bunch of downvotes from people saying the field is too competitive and "things happen" etc.
I do understand that Omaha is 8 and the playoffs are 12, but I also understand LSU football is not LSU baseball in terms of hierarchy, and it never was/will be. Bama football at it's peak, that's on par with LSU baseball. Football has never been there, not even during the early 2000's.

For football, I would say LSU should be in the conversation in November, and probably make it every 3-4 yrs. Fwiw, we were in the conversation the past few years, we just didn't make it in.

This year, we should make it.

Probably so, but we will see at the end of the regular season!
Hopefully we are in the CFP

I agree. If CBK can’t make the playoffs this year his seat is going to be very hot

3 out of 4 years is not unreasonable

Agree

The cancers have left the program. I do think Perk may be a little infected but hopefully the new leadership will impact him.

You can't just say EVERY year. There will be down years but make it 75% of the time is the threshold

CFP or Bust for the Tigers and Brian Kelly.

Time's Up.

You've had enough time.

Shite or Get off the Pot.

CFP or hit the road Jack.

Resign or Retire, but GTFO and move on to greener pastures if you can't get your team into the College Football Playoffs............

There's a chance for LSU to get caught off guard the first part of the season with all the transfers. Their first 3 games is brutal because it also includes a Florida team on the upswing with a QB who blasted them on 1 leg last year. Possible LSU starts 1-2 on the season getting the chemistry together. I don't think it will happen but if it does, I think the season is over before it begins. The Clemson and Florida games will set the tone for the rest of the season. Need a strong start to ride high.

The same can be said about Alabama (5 nattys in the last 25 years), Texas (loaded with disproportionate NIL money and therefore talent, rich recruiting ground), TAMU (same as Texas), Florida (2 nattys in the last 25 years, loaded with money that can translate to NIL money and then to talent) Oklahoma (powerhouse program), Georgia ( 2 nattys, perineal powerhouse, superstar Sabanesque coach, loads of NIL money, rich talent base), Tennessee ( solid NIL money, good coach, blue blood program rising from the ashes).

But from Alabama, LSU, Texas, TAMU, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee only 4 can get in, and that is in a good year. So 3 will be left out every year.

The bottom line is your path to the playoff is hardest from the SEC.

The top 12 teams do not necessarily make the playoffs. Boise State does as the only non power 5,

Even if we go to 16, the SEC will get tops 4 slots. It will be 4 ( SEC ) + 4 ( Big 10 ) + 2 (Big 12) + 2 (ACC) + 2 (Non P4) + 2 (at large, which will likely go to the Big 12 or ACC because of a better record).

Can you leave out a 10-2 Big 12 or ACC team over an 8-4 SEC team...no.
It is far easier to go 10-2 in Big 12 or ACC than it is to go 8-4 in the SEC.

A quick google shows that Kelly is the 10th highest paid coach in the country

That means we should be at minimum a top 10 team every year

If success is proportional to money then there would be no need to play the season.
