The offense could be way better next year then it is this year even with less talent ..based on the new coach and new o coordinator. The defense could be better next year based on year 2 under aranda and the maturation process of our young d -line and some of our young corners ..also could have some good depth with the young receivers .the BYU game will be easier then the Wisconsin game this year...so that's one loss we most likely won't have next year .a non conference loss next year won't happen in most of our opinions I'm sure...the sec will be better next year as a whole though, imo. So schedule and the extra away game may be a push compared to this year....all of that info imo will put us ,next year, about even with this year....a Jim harbaugh type resurrection by our new head coach would make us a playoff contender. A less miles type season would put us at about 4losses...just my analytical mind giving my opinion.

I thought 2015 was going to be an awesome team.

I thought 2016 was going to be an awesome team.

I'm not saying sh*t about 2017.

but if we can get Herman, and he can bring out the potential in Scott, or we can get Jimbo, and he can bring out the potential in Harris,

Jimbo has a damned good record of getting the the best out of any type quarterback.
I doubt you can name a quarterback that played for Jimbo that wasn't above average.
If Scott can play the position, and Jimbo is the coach, I believe we will see him on the field in some role next season. Is Scott similar to Dameyuene Craig when he was at Auburn?

Everything depends on the coach. It'll determine who's the qb which coaches are retained esp oline coach and why type of tael we are mentally and schematically.

My thoughts are along these lines as well. I think we've become so accustomed to underachieving on O we can no longer comprehend a staff overachieving with the talent on-hand.

LSU lost 4 close games this year with a couple to go, My definition of a "close game" is do you have a legitimate chance to win after 3 quarters.3 games went to the wire, 2 on the last play. Arguably, the state game was close as well. So I think the Tigers pick up a close win or two and beat BYU. Obviously a new offense will be installed, whether LSU is substantially better there remains to be seen.

I think we'll cruise to 5-0 or 6-0, which will get us into the top 10 and expectations will be high. Then we'll come back down to Earth and finish with 3 or 4 losses.

Are we rehiring Les Miles? Seriously. Why did we get rid of him if 3 or 4 losses is what we expect.

Anything more than 2 losses to SEC opponents is going to be considered a failure for Jimbo, Herman, or either Kelly. Otherwise we should've just kept CLM.

I predict 3 L's and a top 15 finish.

Not going to invest my emotions over something I have no control over. It's just kids playing a game.

then why are you on this board?

There's nothing wrong with "investing emotions" on LSU football. Or music, art, books, hunting, fishing, charity, golf, etc.

That's what life's all about (outside of family, of course) - finding things that stir your emotions and get you excited to get up in the morning.

For 50 years, fall has been a special time for me. The excitement, anticipating, and electricity in the air on game day, the old memories, and new ones to be made - it's a very good feeling.

And I'm very glad college football makes me feel that way.

Embrace it.

Think long-term, fella.

The road schedule is very tough next year, and we lose a lot of talent. I still think we can be very good, but it's a tough road ahead.

RB - worse
WR - worse

Please explain these two. Guice is every bit as good as Fournette. I think he has showed this. We will have Brossette and I think people are sleeping on this kid.

We don't know if Dupre will come back or not, we know he should. Chark will be back and with the load of WR's we have on the roster this statement makes zero sense! We got a glimpse of what Anderson can do. This dude will end up being a superstar WR.

The OL needs a lot of work and we need to replace TEs and WRs. Losing a lot of great players on D as well. 8-4 would be a good year considering the rebuilding that will need to be done.

Win the SEC West. That should be our expectation and objective every year.
Until Saban leaves Alabama, this is a recipe for big disappointment.
