But 9-3 is and has always been the bare minimum

If one of the 9 is a Bama win, I wouldn't be too upset with this.

Continued high level success which means winning the SEC with some frequency.

And after the GOAT CFB season ever, don't care what happens the next 50 years.

I'm still living off the memory of watching my Saints beat the Colts in Miami after waiting 40 years. It's all good.

After this season and the Saints winning a Superbowl, my football dreams are pretty much complete and I will pass to the next world a happy man.

That's pretty much where I am too.

Plus, LSU's GOAT season has a TON of cushion. I don't see anyone topping those numbers for a long, long time.

Agree. I think we go 11-1 next year or 10-2 at worst. If I had to pick the two regular season losses I'd guess Florida and Bama. If I had to pick 1 I'd say Florida because it's on the road

@auburn and @ tamu to end the season wont be easy.

I'd prefer to have exciting, competitive games throughout the season with the occasional playoff appearance, than sleep through a Clemson type season.

I second that. This season was so much more meaningful having beat so many great teams. Still would have meant alot but not as much had we played cake walk games all season. Every game we played had so much hype.

Joe Burrow needs to have a son and send him to LSU. Maybe I will get lucky enough to be alive to see it.

Is it reasonable to expect us to compete for the title next year? I understand the line will have to gel quick and we’ll see how Brennan does with the keys to the Ferrari but I think we have enough coming back to make a run next year. Lots of veteran leadership still left on defense

Consistent top five recruiting followed by player development excellence of freshman / redshirt freshman / sophomores involved in real game experience so we never need to worry about drop-off when star players get injured / depart after three years. Having those experience opportunities can be a real selling point for recruits. Beyond that with good schemes and smart game-time coaching decisions, the rest should fall in place for minimum 10-2 each year.

If you’re talking about winning the West with a shot at the CFP, I honestly see that as a bit unrealistic, but I guess it isn’t “unreasonable” if we are to believe what we heard all year, and what the money we’re paying out for our HC indicates, that the offense is transformed and this program can now go toe to toe with Alabama, not just this past year’s team.

I tend to think it was more about one special team led by the greatest player in our history and one of the best to ever play CFB, not necessarily the new normal for the program.

But even if we are some new powerhouse, the trends pointed out in this thread indicate in an even year it will be tough to return to Atlanta. But I guess that’s one way to measure if we’re actually in a different spot now. Do we now have the ability to make runs every year rather than just every other year when everything aligns perfectly?

Alabama went from 2008-2019 only losing more than one regular season game once. They made the SECCG five of the past seven seasons. If we’ve really made this huge leap as a program, we should be closer to that than 9-3 as a baseline.

I don’t think failing to make Atlanta automatically means we don’t, although an 8-4 type year should definitely quiet a lot of that talk, but a return trip would unquestionably mean we are now the force to be reckoned with that we all want the program to be.

That has always been the problem in the SEC, especially the SECW. Will not get any easier with new coaches aboard. Key is & always has been recruiting. O put together one of the best staffs in college football to take them to the next level, year end & year out.
