re: Expect changes on LSU’s defense

Dave Aranda is overpaid. He is the second highest paid DC in the Country. He has been good but our Defenses have been nowhere near being dominant under him. He is supposed to be this Genius/Defensive Guru and I have yet to see it. He made ZERO adjustments in the second half and sat back in a base defense only rushing 3 or 4 over and over while we were getting shredded! The frustrating thing was the pressure we created every time we brought 5-6?

I used to be very anti-O but he is showing he can manage a program. He is doing what he said he would. He is giving us great results.

WBRZ has video of O ripping Aranda's arse on the sideline

Well if you get paid like Aranda does then you try not to let these types of games stack up

Coach O was angry about LSU’s defense on the sideline. That was obvious.

The Amite kid with the hand injury needs to take Harris’ place. He’s a baller.

Honestly we need to be even more aggressive. Since our offense is legit we should shift our d to blitz more, leave our corners on islands and we should gamble more for turnovers.
Our d players are built to attack not play soft. It would make sense to play safe if our o was still in the stone ages.
This new O should allow for the d to pressure and gamble.

Harris might need to be replaced
Which one? Mo Hampton has a broken arm. Brooks is more quarter than free. Not sure which freshmen you think we have lying in wait here ...
If anyone replaced him, it would be Eric Monroe. But Monroe has had ample time to demonstrate he's better than Harris, so if that was going to happen, it would have already happened.

What kind of effort was that on that tackle by Vincent? That was frickin terrible.

Maurice Hampton is from Tennessee. And the broken hand has kept him out of contact drills. No way he suddenly replaces anyone at this point.

That’s two freshmen with injuries. The Amite kid has one too, he is clearly talented enough, he played both as safety and receiver.

I’m old enough to remember Orgeron catching shite for bitching out Aranda on the sidelines last year.
He did it today and now it’s ok.

The Amite kid
Are you talking about Devonta Lee? If so, I haven't heard any mention of him playing safety. I've heard WR and TE. He played WR versus Georgia Southern. He is not injured, to the best of my knowledge.
I don't mean to be rude, but I think you're confused about our personnel ...

Setting aside Stevens/Brooks and the S/OLB QUARTER position, this is our safety depth chart:
Delpit
Vincent
Harris
Monroe
Lewis
Jones
Hampton (injured)
Thus, our options for "replacing" Harris are Monroe, Lewis, and Jones. All of had plenty of time to surpass Harris on the depth chart if they were going to do so.
Hampton will certainly develop -- but given his injury I believe he will redshirt. We will see him come baseball season, though.

Devonta Lee played in the secondary on defense in high school along with offense. I saw him play in the Superdome, he intercepted a pass. Maybe LSU coaches were too quick to switch him to offense. Defense is what’s lacking.

Yeah those double stunts were 2 of the 3 sacks tonight. Hell it might have been all 3

Well he's not playing in the secondary at LSU, bro. Get over it.

I'm def not defending him but from I saw it looked like he wrongly thought Ferell was gonna make the tackle from the otherside and didn't wanna put his body on the line to avoid a injury or something which is not the way to go about things cus he def had the angle on the guy then he just let up like he just finished a 100m or something
