Max college career way longer than his nfl career will be.
He’s not playing in the NFL if he isn’t ready after seasons in P4 programs. Some of these 5th and 6th year kids are just doing it for a paycheck instead of entering the workforce. They sure as hell aren’t pursuing a PhD.

How much is MJ getting paid at Georgia Southern? It can't be much.

Max Johnson is closer in age to Pat Mahomes (10 year Vet) than Keelon Russell (Bama QB).

He is older than his dad when he won the Super Bowl.

Max Johnson has ended the careers of 3 coaches. Grim Reaper coming to GSU coach's door.

After 7 years of college shouldn’t it be Dr. Max Johnson?

First one was a regular redshirt since it was 4 games or less (even if he was injured)
It's very very difficult to get more than 1 medical redshirt, especially if you already have a redshirt year under your belt outside of that

Max walked away from the starting QB job at LSU. As it turns out, his time here was the highlight of his career.
The same for Chris Curry. He was set to start after the natty, and he transferred out. Stepping in for Clyde Edwards H was the highlight of his career as he didn't do much at Utah.

Most HS QBs need to figure out that it's better for them to start at a small program and play, than to commit to a major program and attempt to develop.
If a HS QB can find himself a Bryce Underwood situation, then great.
The Tom Brady/Peyton Manning advice of staying at one school and developing with one OC/system is not a straight-forward plan as there is way too much turnover on college football staffs.
It also doesn't help HS QBs that the most elite football programs don't want to deal with QB development. They want an experienced, proven QB which is why we see programs such as Oregon and Miami buying transfer QB every off season. Looks like Texas Tech is in the discussion as well with their billionaire booster. I fully expect LSU to be in those transfer QB battles moving forward.
