He was allegedly illegally passing in and out of the lane which caused a truck to slow down rapidly causing the car behind him to swerve to avoid hitting him and hit the deceased guy head on. The data Kyren's attorney showed appeared to show the driver who swerved was following too close.
This is NOT what the gold truck driver said on video. He said he had no skid marks and did NOT slam on his brakes.
The driver likely slowed down and the vehicle behind him didn't brake and chose to go left into oncoming traffic to avoid a rear end collision.

Exactly. Guy even refused to sign the false statement.
Posted on 10/3/25 at 6:46 pm to rsylve
Like why is this just coming to light about an unsigned statement?? Surely KLs lawyer had that for a bit?
Posted on 10/3/25 at 6:47 pm to Red Stick Tigress
Because she was too busy eating her Funyuns and listening to music instead of paying attention to the road.

Unsigned statement
Gotta have the body cam video to disprove the statement.

Well now they do and the trooper needs to be investigated.

You can slow down quickly without leaving skidmarks. I've slammed on my brakes many times in my life and never left skid marks

He was also going less than 30mph

But a person should always leave ample room for emergency stopping. And following to closely was her original tickets. Changed to “crossing the center line”.

Half this sub was ready to lynch him. Glad his name is now cleared.

People convicted him of killing a veteran before anything had been proven.
Including 95% of this board. Terrible people, all of them.

Kinda weird that this hasn't been talked about by LSU or broadcasters all year. If his mom was Kim Mulkey this would get talked about every timeout
ohh go take a lap. you’re here intentionally trying to stir the pot.
admins should delete that post entirely.

This kid was 100% innocent and not involved in any way in causing the accident.
I think the lady is the primary/main cause of the wreck. But I don’t agree that Lacy was “not involved in any way.” his driving choice started the sequence of unfortunate events. Is it criminal? …Apparent to all of us now definitely not, but to say he was “not involved at all” isn’t accurate at all. He was a part of this. Lots of blame to give out, mostly to the lady IMO, but also a little bit to Lacy too.
All of this is civil … it should have never turned into a criminal matter IMO.

Basically, the stupid women hat actually crashed her car into the victims vehicle was tailgating the car in front of her at basically 50 mph.
When that car probably saw Lacy passing way down the road, the hit their brakes a bit and the tailgater swerved into on coming traffic crashing into the victim’s car, thus killing them.
She then went on to what seems fabricate a story to try and make it look like Lacy was about to crash into all of them and caused the crash.
Now because this pathetic excuse for a human can’t stop tailgating cars and then stupidly swerves into oncoming traffic, two people are dead.
The data basically clears Lacy as the main perpetrator as the cause of the crash. The driver of the car the crashed into the victim is almost entirely at fault for her horrible driving actions.
Police, as usual, tried to blame the easiest target and the one with the highest profile. Facts and logic didn’t matter.

Lmao you mean that cop who told him what to say?
Posted on 10/3/25 at 7:10 pm to The Pirate King
My point was that he contradicted what LSP was trying to get him to say and also what the Funyun munching tailgater said.
Posted on 10/3/25 at 7:12 pm to Turbeauxdog
I didn't watch the whole thing but are we to assume the guy brake checked her because of the tailgating?
Posted on 10/3/25 at 7:13 pm to Tzanghi
It sure sounded like it to me.
Go see it … iirc “don’t forget to write that you slammed your brakes” or that effect. At least twice if not three times he eluded to what the witness should write.

I didn’t get that .. I assumed that he slowed down as an aware/defensive driver when he saw KL passing the cars 3 or 4 at a time. No one has mentioned brake checking that I’ve read.
