With the PTSD I have lingering from last years opening loss to MooState not to mention Missouri, I will be thrilled to come out with a 1 pt. win.

Some of that is negated by experience.

Three top 5 recruiting classes in a row and we were young last year. How long is the team gonna be inexperienced?

I think what every LSU fan needs to remember going into this one is what happened in Austin in '19

Maybe the best team ever in CFB barely escaped with a win.

It took a 3rd and 16 completion under duress for a TD to seal that win

The defense NEVER stopped Texas in the 2nd H

I was very confident in 2011 vs Oregon b/c I knew our defense was going to be able to stop their offense

Nobody truly knows anything about offense or defense this year. Sure we have talent and UCLA can't win on paper.

But I'm just not sure how anybody could be overconfident with so many damn variables. Texas turned out to be a mediocre at best team in '19 and LSU had the best team and QB in its history.

Idk why people are downvoting this. This is facts. If LSU doesn’t beat UCLA by at least 10 they will have real problems to come down the road.

We need to send a message. A message that says 2020 was a fluke and we’re back in business and looking for payback.

It sure would be nice to set the tone for the rest of the season with a convincing win. I cautiously optimistic that's what we will see. But, it's tough to tell until we see the new coordinators in action.

A win is a win is a win.

One of the happiest times of my LSU fandom came after a 35-34 win over UH.

2019 LSU snuck out a win vs 8-5 Texas team. If you wouldve told people LSU would barely beat and 8-5 Texas team, I think most people would doubt that the 2019 was the best team ever

Texas had the 7th most talented roster that year while LSU had the 5th. UCLA is 24th this year and LSU has the 5th again.

Lot of wishful thinking in this thread. Just b/c you "want to send a message" doesn't mean a message will be sent.
BOth our OC and DC have not coached a single game with their new players in this new system. We have a starting QB with two starts under his belt and lots of question marks on offense.
I'll take a win.
Oh ,and if we don't win by ten or more, that may, in fact, mean trouble down the road. That doesn't mean we win by ten or more.

Team isn't inexperienced, just haven't proven anything yet!! The entire offense and defense played last year!! The incoming freshmen that will play are very good! if the coaches have them prepared to played at their best then it shouldn't be close!! I mean if anyone watched UCLA play Hawaii would know that it's was more about how bad Hawaii was not how good UCLA is

You’re comparing UCLA to Texas? That’s funny. Texas was ranked #9 in the entire country when we played.

Texas was pretty good on offense that year with a loaded recieving core and they just straight played their arse off against top teams and not so much against middling teams. That seems to be a Tom Herman trait of his teams going back to Houston.

They also had alot of injuries in the middle of the season but once they got healthy they kind of dominated Georgia at the end of the year. Im no fan of Texas but i think it was them just playing inspired more than us playing bad.

that, and our defense was trying to find its way, one of the rare times at LSU to see the offense subsidizing the defense, usually the other way around, defense got it figured out though
