re: Everyone that signed off on the Ensminger promotion should be fired today.

Although I’m not ready to throw in the towel for this season and given the teams record at this point you have to give credit to CEO for at least keeping us relevant and competitive. we have had to deal with some injuries on OL so obviously there will be issues with protection and run blocking because we haven’t been able to put a consistent starting five out there.

He has done a good job with the team as far as keeping them hungry and playing together for 60 minute so I won’t just trash these guys and they do deserve some credit for what they have done to this point.

With that said, I am in agreement on the offense. We will hear some fans say “we just don’t have the talent” or “we don’t have the depth” or “players aren’t executing” but that is all BS. We got out coached by Mullen again, on Saturday. Once he found weaknesses, he exposed them continuously. I really believe we lack a good play caller on the offensive side of the ball. Someone who can make adjustments and expose the other teams weaknesses. We simply do not do it on a consistent basis and haven’t done it for years. I understand you will have the guy that says you don’t what they are calling or maybe the guy ran the wrong route or the QB didn’t see him but to those fans I say, how long can this go on? We need to put up more points! It’s plain and simple. These games are long with a lot of stoppages for TV timeouts and it is just too hard to hold a good opponent to under 20 points every week. The days of winning 10-7 are just about gone. Regardless of the OL, it’s mind boggling that we can’t hang 40 or 50 on SELU.
Here are a few things I saw Saturday:
1) how many times did we throw to a RB out of the backfield? I think once, maybe tried one other time. Other schools make a living off of throwing to backs but we rarely do it.
2) Terrance Marshall catches a quick slant for a first down on the first drive of the game and we don’t see him again.
3) how many times did we have 2nd and short and not take a shot downfield. Especially on their side of the field where you can even take one on third and short
4) The TE? Lol , we only throw TE when down by two scores and it’s been this way for years.
5) Brossette marches you down the field to take the lead and the next drive you decide to go CEH , lol wtf?
6) lack of mixing up run/pass in obvious situations. You don’t have to throw every first down and you don’t have to run on second if you throw an incomplete pass on first. Our tendencies or incredibly obvious

IMO we have improved somewhat on what we were doing with Les but it hasn’t changed a whole lot.

There are matchup problems if you have 5 WR and 2 CBS.

Thernis no DC in thenworld who can put 7 in the box to cover a draw and cover 5 Wide.

E's lack of screen game is frustrating. But we have a better offense than Les post '07 and excluding when we had 2 all pro wrs

5 wide draws people out of the box.

So a QB draw with 5 wide wouldn’t be running into 3 LBs.

And that besides the point. We’re squabbling over 1 thing. It was a lot of things that lost this game.

We were in 2nd & short exactly twice all day. Both times we ran the ball for 1st downs.

For one, At no point were were ever down 2 scores.

Moreau caught one ball, had another called back by penalty, and had a 3rd that was incomplete.

im not butthurt...i criticized our DC bc his gameplan absolutely sucked and posters like you and all the other O haters put it all on SE. Be fair and call out the "best DC in the country" when his unit sucked.

Please tell me how all those rankings compare to our defenses over the last 10 years

We ran a screen play to 5 different players on Saturday.

Jefferson caught 2 for positive yards

Giles caught 2 for positive yards.

Brossette caught 1, and had another incomplete. He had a 3rd pass that was a swing pass.

CEH caught on that didn't go anywhere.

Moreau caught one that went for 14 yards.
