Of course the programs were different in Sept 2000 vs Sept 2017. But the 2017 Troy program was a helluva lot better than the 2000 UAB program was.

You O-Haters can't have it both ways. UAB had been D-1 for just three years. LSU had PLENTY of talent that night to have won that game.

Quite frankly neither LSU team should have lost to either one of them.

Given that LSU is questionable at QB and at OLine, plus a tough schedule, the prediction is reasonable.

1999 LSU team was 3-9. I don't think people were sharpening the pitch forks over a non-conference loss. they were quite used to them by then, having suffered through multiple under archer, hallman, and dinardo.

2016 LSU loss to wisconsin was the first loss to a non conference team in the regular season since like 2002.

Wasn't that 2014?

Maybe A A Ron should have tightened up a little bit.

He didn't give up that touchdown at the end. I guess the defense RELAXED too much. Or maybe they were too TIGHT.

Ifhyour gonna put the touchdown on oh then have can you give him credit for anything.

He didn’t score any touchdown.

It’s a dumb excuse

O pumpers acting like 17 points is plenty to beat a top 15 team

LSU HAS ONLY WON THE SEC WEST ONE TIME SINCE 2007!

so while the expectation is there, it just doesn't happen very often. In fact, we have only had a better SEC record than we had last year, 2017 (6-2), 3 times in the last 28 years (2011, 2005, and 2003)

But I think this year, with the coaching staff we have, and the team talent, that we far exceed expectations.

Also you don’t see a difference in the program in 2000 and in 2017?

what I see is that we haven't had a better SEC record than we had in Coach O's very first full season but 3 times in the last 28 years.
Coach MIles twice had LSU better than 6-2 (2005 and 2011) and Coach Saban did it once (2003) while at LSU.

It is a tough schedule though. The toughest. But we have a tough coach and a gritty team.

Actually I’lm happy that everyone is sleeping on us. I’m very Optimistic about this year. We have an extremely talented Roster , but a lot of them is unproven. And I know we lost to Troy and that should never happen. We did get better as the season went on. we gave the national champions everything they wanted and then some InTuscaloosa. You want to bring the bowl loss up. Notre Dame wasn’t as bad as a team That people try to make them out to be. Notre Dame head two top 10 picks on their offensive line. D Jackson’s poor tackling technique is the only reason we lost that game. If we had a Field goal kicker it wouldn’t even got to that Last play LSU is going to surprise a lot of people especially U Nega Tigers

LSU will win 9 or 10 games easily. Maybe more. Way too talented otherwise.

Will beat UGA in Baton Rouge too.

Bama game will be a tossup. Always is in BR

Since 2000 in the West, we have finished first 5 times, second 8 times (including O's interim year), third 4 times (including last year) and fourth ONCE. We have never finished fifth or lower since 1999. We have not had fewer than 8 wins since 1999

We also hadn't lost an OOC home game or had a recruiting class ranked lower than 14th in basically that same period. O accomplished both in his first year.

I'm not saying we're going to finish 5th, but until I see him (O) give me some reason to have faith in his ability to actually coach this team, I'll have low expectations.

I don’t think y’all finish 5th (3 teams in the hunt for 3rd: LSU, State, TAMU) but how do finishes in the past have any influence on how a team finishes this year?

They don't. At all.

I personally think we're going 6-6 this year.

Hope not, but I can't see us surviving our roster turnover and our coaching woes.

The schedule is tough, but shite, it's the SEC West. It's always tough.
