You’d swear by looking at this thread that we were 5-10 in conference play. We are half a game out of first, lol. And won 2/3 of our sec games. So i guess this is how stupid this fanbase has gotten.
We only hit .225 against top pitching? Where the hell did that stat come from and what are other teams hitting against top pitching?
Did it suck that we didnt win a title with bregman? Yeah. Know what wouldve helped? If he didnt fricking boot a routine double play ball against ucla in game 1 of omaha in the 9th inning. If that didnt happen, we may just have another title.

Bottom Line......

Win this road series and this team is on pace to do what past LSU teams have done.........

And past rantards have said was impossible.....

We’ll still be tied for FIRST place in the SEC WEST....

WHY MELT?

Age and having won an NC will dull some people's drive...
not everyone had the compulsive win spirit.

“Real LSU fans” are real (really) stupid. Just like with Miles, I don’t want PM fired if he’s willing to Stop hiring his worthless buddies and hires “real assistants”

I said this a couple years ago. He wins on talent alone most of the time. I was bashed as a Miles/PM hater. I think i'm just being realistic.

I assume you are referring to Bregman. This isn’t basketball where one great player can carry a team.

Hey, remember that time Alex Bregman cost us a game in Omaha because of an error on a routine ground ball? I member.

But go on about how Paul Mainieri squandered his time here.

I don't think any coach is or should be infallible. Mainieri is far from perfect. He, like every coach, makes a ton of decisions over the course of a game and a season and they are at times head-scratchers. I didn't understand going with Costello yesterday. Going back to the 2014 regional games against Houston (and before), he's had his share of blunders.

What I really don't understand is people flipping out over dropping a game at this point in the year given where we currently stand. Everything is very much lined up for this team to finish at or near the top of the SEC, get a top 8 national seed and make it to Omaha yet again. Until we fail to do that, I don't see why people are so eager to pounce. I really don't get it. If this season winds up with another disappointing early postseason exit, OK - maybe it will be time to start looking elsewhere or to make some serious changes. But as of right now, I just don't understand the venom being thrown at Mainieri and the team.

Fans keep assuming that PM is going to make a great playoff team this year out of his no1. recruiting class. That bull already left the pasture, there’s not a damn thing great about this team. They can’t steal, they can’t pitch, they can’t play defense, nearly half the team has a batting % below 200. Embrace the greatness.

And every time LSU loses a game it becomes apparent that many of just don’t understand the difference between football and baseball

If you truly believe this, then you have to admit its a great coaching job being done to have the team a half a game out of 1st.

It’s human nature. People are frustrated and want to blame somebody.

Paul obviously isn’t the only one responsible for instances when the team performs poorly, but there will always be people whose minds go straight to ‘fire the coach.’

It is what it is. I try to stay out of it and control that which I can control, which is not going wasting time engaging in stupid debates that are held at length here several times a week.

That doesn’t make me any better than those who do, just to each their own.

So far we are where we need to be in conference in the wins/loss column. What part of that can you not see?

You are trying to tell us to be mad about something that hasn’t happened and may not happen.

We are trying to show you be happy about where we ARE right now.

I wish our bats would hit more consistently, but pitching and defense are good enough right now.

Snowflakes can’t handle the truth. PM’s coaching assistants are terrible, you would find better assistants at a youth ballpark in BR.
