Their claim is that they know the NCAA is toothless and the only way around all of these future TRO's/injunctions is to have SEC's own rules that you wouldn't be able to go around.
Yes, it is hypocritical that they have stood by with so many other TRO's including Chambliss, but here we are.
They are basically saying "Starting now for everyone".
Sankey's approach has been bad with this. If anything he should have been apologizing to us for drawing the line starting with us instead of all of this threatening BS.

I get all that. I still don’t understand why it is being decided to have a vote to expel LSU from the conference.

Agree: I am sure they are going to argue since the kids are still enrolled, we are still trying to get them to play through a court which would still be unacceptable to them.
I guess they will only be satisfied with the kids not being enrolled or some guarantee they won't be rostered regardless

I knew a B-17 pilot who once told me that knew they were close to the target when the flak became intense. Maybe the people at the SEC view this as an existential fight

100% the conference will be sued heavily to pay any kids that got a court order to be eligible and conference is blocking their legal right to earn income. I can see them having to dish out millions this year to pay these kids. Would have been easier to roll with it this one year and let the schools pay these kids and blame on the NCAA and move on down the road. Most schools would have picked up one or two. Some would have dumped a kid to make room. It is what it is.

So the SEC stance is going to be these guys can't get an education?
That's going to go over real well in court.
