Please show how Harris' great arm has helped him succeed in cfb
Well. Harris has a MUCH bigger arm but, the world is littered with big armed QBs who weren't good QBs.
And, there are plenty of average armed QBs who have been excellent. Hell, Joe Montana had a very average arm.
Sure. Arm strength PLUS the intangibles can make for greatness. But it ain't some given.
Etling's arm seems fine.

I don't think he means arm strength as in how far he can throw it. I assume he's talking about the velocity on shorter throws. And to my simple eyes, those passes kind of float out there and could be an issue against better DBs

He seems to have a noodle arm and throws balls that will be dangerous against more talented athletes.
Well without him you've seen what chances we have against better competition so I'll take it and be happy instead of being a miserable frick.

Are there? Etling's arm is more than adequate, but I can't think of an NFLer with a worse arm.
I think his arm is fairly similar to Trevor Siemien (sp?). It's certainly better than Peyton's arm last year.

I have a better arm than Peyton's last year!

I'd compare his arm to Andrew Hatch?
I have a stronger arm than Andrew Hatch had at LSU.
Danny Etling definitely has a much stronger arm then I do.

Danny Wuerffel won a Heisman, for whatever that's worth.
Etling has better arm strength than Wuerffel.

Even his out route to Dupre in the 4th quarter was more of an arc rather than a bullet.
I'd take this over Harris' approach all day. He was throwing to a wide open receiver and just dropped it in the bucket to ensure a catch.
Now, when he has to make that throw against a good secondary he may need more zip on it, if the coverage is tight.

s better than Hatch.
I'd say similar to Danny Wuerful.
Which, frankly, in college, is fine.
Exaclty.
We arent asking him to throw 20 yard out routes.

Like this kind throw.
^^Opposite sideline deep out route. That throw is adequate at this level. Good enough, but nothing to write home about.
Or the one to Chark that he pulled off his shoe laces.
ETA: Just to be clear, he does other things well enough that his arm strength is not much of a concern IMO.

He's the first one I recalled but he's out of the league.

Andy Dalton doesn't have a big arm. Drew Brees doesn't anymore. Teddy Bridgewater. Alex Smith.
Accuracy makes up for it though.

He might be confusing arm strength with touch.

That was a long throw from the pocket that takes a good arm to get there. That was a nice throw. It wasn't like Dupree had to do anything special to make the grab. The ball got to the right spot at the right time.

Where the hell do people get this from??? His arm is NOT WEAK!!!! Some of you just repeat the dumb shite you hear or read.

Hey fricknuts, did you see the td to chark?
Ball was 40+ yes in the air, and dropped in on a dime. We do not need more than that with our talent.
IMO, over years and years of seeing qb's with strong arms, especially college guys, it makes them feel they can make any throw as long as they throw it hard (in tight spots). And it gets them in trouble.
If you make your reads and hit the open guy, that's all that matters. No matter who our qb is, we aren't a wide open spread offense.
He's doing his job and it works for us

Kurt Warner, Tom Brady too.
But Jamarcus Russell had a huge arm.
