LSU has a new offense, a new starting quarterback, unproven running backs and an unusually challenging schedule even by SEC standards.

The Tigers’ goal is to improve on last year’s 9-4 record and challenge Alabama, Auburn and perhaps Texas A&M in the SEC West.

But with so many challenges, a move in the other direction is possible. In fact, ESPN’s Football Power Index computer foresees just that happening and predicts the Tigers will finish 6-6, which would put Ed Orgeron’s future as LSU head coach in doubt.

I've pretty much decided to set my expectations at 6-6. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. There are just so many huge question marks, it's hard for me to see where or how we could match, let alone improve off of, 9-4.

Remember when we used to be excited about the question marks surrounding the team? Man, those were the good ole days.

Does their calculations take into account how many Super Bowl rings our assistant coaches have?

We have an obligation to our student-athletes to put them in the best position to have success on the football field each week and we have great confidence that coach Orgeron will do just that

Why were the expectations so much higher under Miles if he was a terrible coach???

Not saying this is you at all, but hopefully this is not a case of "expectations" where at the end of the year people are championing the fact that "well we had the record we were supposed to have!"

Woof. tbh though if someone wanted to give me 500/1 odds on LSU winning the SEC, I'd take that bet.

Hell no. 6-6 is dogshit and I would never say that it's acceptable just because it's what I kind of expected/anticipated.

Complete and utter bullshite that we have sunken to this level.. All because a bunch of retarded coon asses had some personal vendetta agains Les. Now were stuck with the shrimp boat captain and 6-6 projections. It doesn't make any sense at all that 0 can have such low expectations but Miles was crucified on this board for anything less than 9-3. We are so fricked
