Funny how everyone always says stuff like this, but JR led a hurricane Katrina 2005 team to a 1 loss regular season which is less than Flynn did with a pre season #1 2007 team.

2006 played 4 top ten teams on the road (which is more than 2007 played all year) and only lost 2.

i would like to point out that jamarcus played for 3 years while flynn's 1st year as a starter was his senior year.. so, i don't think stats tell the whole tale. all i'll say is, as a sophomore in 2005, in his 1st year starting (and with more experience the year before), jamarcus had the best receiving corps in lsu history with bowe, davis, and doucet, and his yards were hardly more than flynn's (in his 1st year starting) and flynn's TD-to-INT ratio was better, not that doucet, byrd, and lafell were any slouches for flynn.

Not to mention that JR had 3 NFL caliber WRs. And Bowe is one of the best in the game still.

Flynn had 1.

That will make a huge difference in your stats.

You must be an intense LSU fan.

Doucet
Lafell
Byrd

That was our three receivers in 2007. All drafted, 2 still in the league.

I was at the game when JR took the field for the first time. He was quite the athletic looking player. All I could think was what great things were ahead of him. Little did I know that he did not have much between the ears. Flynn was the winner and player. JR never arrived. I was on the field to watch the warm up and the 2 of them were awesome. JR was a little taller, but Flynn was an awesome size and had the zing on the ball. Literally, it zinged. They went with the one with more potential, but they should have realized that he had some problem. It was said that our coach thought he was drinking purple drink for LSU colors. Ha!

Well as long as ive been alive fans latch on to one qb.

Neither qb did anything wrong at LSU.

We should be happy for both.

y? dude went just south of 5 YPC for his career and had one of the most legendary games in Tiger Stadium history. I'd say he's a Top 10 RB for LSU. I know you think everyone's racist though.

Possibly and at the lower end of the top 10, if that. Hester was a good back but what he did for LSU is what is expected of every back we recruit. Joseph Addai was better imo and gets very little love from this board.

Only reason he got a work out is because one of trestmans pals from the CFL asked him to work him out so they could have a look.

Definitely meant Top 10 as in 9-10, and I'm willing to go with Top 15. Hard to really know for sure with the RB by committee stuff with KW, CS, TH, etc., but he did have the ninth best rushing season in LSU history in spite of all that. He had intangibles and all that stuff too, which should be a factor. It's just the MSB groupthink to say Hester is overrated by rantards. And I agree on Addai being very underrated.

Agreed, I watched the UGA/LSU game from '03 & he was very impressive in critical situations.

I'm intense enough to know that Doucet missed almost half the season, and is Not in the NFL

But if you insist on counting him, Russell then had 4 NFL receivers to throw to

Bows
Davis
Doucet
Lafell

Most QBs should have significant stats with that crew
