I can think of one. Name escapes me at the moment. I think he used to coach here.

9-3 against 5 coaches that were fired and the worst BYU team in history.

O is not a typical college head coaching hire, so comparisons don't make sense in an illogical situation.

I think 5-7 would get him run. Anything better than that and I think he'll be back. If we go like 7-5 or 6-6 I think Alleva gets fired.

Absolutely. We were a top 3 program during the decade from 2001-2011

We can not and should not tolerate a 5-7 type season

That's something that might be tolerable from someone who has bought some capital and benefit of a doubt with a national championship and just had an off year due to a slew or injuries or something. But Orgeron has not built up that type of capital for a mulligan year.

From the Advocate:
"Only eight college coaches in their past 29 games have a better record than Orgeron: Saban (27-2), Clemson’s Dabo Swinney (26-3), Ohio State’s Urban Meyer (25-4), new UCLA coach Chip Kelly (25-4 at Oregon), Wisconsin’s Paul Chryst (25-4), Washington’s Chris Petersen (24-5), Miami’s Mark Richt (22-7) and Penn State’s James Franklin (22-7).

That’s it. Orgeron has the same record in his last 29 games as Stanford’s David Shaw and USC’s Clay Helton and has a better mark over that span than Auburn’s Gus Malzahn (19-10) and Texas coach and one-time LSU target Tom Herman (19-10). Even Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M’s new $75 million man, was a pedestrian 18-11 in his final 29 games at Florida State, leaving with a 5-6 mark as FSU’s interim coach steered the Seminoles to a pair of closing wins."

The big question is, does Kiffin hire O to coach his D-Line?

Nope. o does not get another OC hire next year if Ensminger fails. They are in this together win or lose. I think all of us will be surprised with our offense this year — in a good way. burrow is the difference, and Coach E can call a good game.

Ensminger is the key.

Sadly this us pretty true. Kind of crazy that a guy who didn't even want to be OC holds all the cards to this program.

He's not going anywhere until after 2019 season at the soonest.

It could be sooner... the buyout is easy enough with SEC Network money coming in.

And I guarantee any new AD would face a mandate of bringing in a new coach ASAP, a big one.

Les not forget we fired a national championship head coach for going 9-4 too often.

Can you frickers let the first couple of games be played before you start calling for CEO to be fired?

No doubt about that. After the 2019 season he will be evaluated not before then unless he has a losing season this year. Truth here.
