Why be "disappointed" in a Tiger for having a social consciousness when they don't have to have on?

Because he's not oppressed and the cops in America aren't out to just gun down minorities. Many people in this country are sick and tired of false narratives being accepted as truth.

The military doesn't own the flag. Protesting about the state of the country is not disrespecting the military. Eric can do as he pleases.

Maybe you have got it wrong? Why do we owe allegiance to a flag? Is that not idolatry?

I thinks it's disrespectful to our troops that serve.

Not everyone agrees, including plenty of us that served. Do we lose people we care about so we can villainize our neighbors who don't even mean the disrespect that we attribute to them?

Personally, I think hating people over a difference of ideas and symbols is a disrespect to those we know who fought and died for Reid's and all of our freedoms. We fought against that type of mindset. But that's just me. If hating him makes you feel better, have at it.

Another Eric Reid thread? Good grief. This is consistent with everything he’s done for some time now, nothing new. It wasn’t about the troops then, it’s not about the troops now, even on Veterans Day.

Get over it.

And what were they ALL doing in terms of money and actions b4 it became fashionable to kneel? NOTHING! Bunch of rich, spoiled and coddled hypocrites. I came from nothing, began burdened with student debt and have emerged. I don't hear these rich pansies crying one bit. NOBODY gave me anything.

The fact that you think employees should be able to perform a political protest alienating half of their fans while in their uniform on the job is incredible. Does the Burger King cashier tell you "she's with her" when you order a whopper? Does the fed ex delivery man tell you to be sure to make America great again after delivering a package?

Has nothing to do with the military or the flag, and everybody knows this. Stop lying to yourselves like children. Keep up the good work Eric, and Geaux Tigers.

He's taking it way too personally. A relatively few bad apples or misjudgements by police officers does not make the country my great grandfather fought and died for rife with injustice and worthy of blatant disrespect. You don't let someone disrespect you in your own home do you?

Oh btw he's living a life most only dream of.

People? By people you mean a bunch of unpatriotic, spoiled, coddled and rich NFL players who choose to dishonor 2 symbols that define our country and that are completely unrelated to racism in our country? Oh, yeah, those people.

+1

I’m still wondering when the American flag came to solely represent the military. Of course it represents them, but it represents everyone else, as well. Meanwhile, those who are the most incensed by the gesture are very often the same people who gleefully disrespect the flag by using napkins imprinted with the Stars and Stripes to wipe their mouths, bandanas to wick the sweat away from their foreheads, etc. The hypocracy of hating a simple demonstration versus desecrating it on a daily basis is absolutely staggering.
