Remember, when you make a political "statement" , u piss off half the country.

also religion and racial issues

there is a reason most work settings steer clear of race, religion, and politics.
its the 3 most polarizing issues in this country

He’s probably right. Agree or disagree, freedom of speech is not always without consequences. Fact.

Talk radio and ESPN are begging for interviews with athletes and the latter loves to push the radical left wing agenda, if these morons really wanted to get their message out there’s plenty of ways other than disrespecting the country’s national anthem and flag. But remember Kaepernicks girlfriend is the one who came up with this idea. She’s a racist bitch and she wanted to give a big frick you to this country that she hates so much. The rest of the knuckleheads just blindly followed without asking any questions about the genesis of the protest.

I'm pretty much a lurker, so I read a lot of what you say, and believe it or not I'm not one of those that disagree with everything you say, but on the anthem stance I think you're dead wrong .

There are twice as many white people (~18 mil) below the poverty line than black people (~9 mil)

So, I don’t think poverty explains crime as well as you think. But I agree with everything else you said.

That’s the problem with Reid and his ilk, always blaming someone or something other than himself, and in this case, he really has to look in the mirror.....

This just in: Millenials want to protest without any consequences to their actions.

The very worst advice you could give a young person today, is to tell them to embrace Identity Politics, Race Grievance and External Locus Of Control Psychology. It’s all a recipe for personal unhappiness and societal chaos .

Encouraging your child to be a Progressive is like encouraging him to be any other Ideological Fundamentalist that offers cartoon answers to the big issues in life. It’s like encouraging your kid to be a Fundamentalist Muslim, or a Scientologist or a Communist . It takes you farther away from the pursuit of Truth in favor of a belligerent narrative that is based on resentment and grievance towards your fellow Americans. That’s what Eric Reid is doing, he’s encouraging people to take a path that will make their lives infinitely harder.

So spare me me all the lectures on courage and “standing up”. He’s asking people to ignore the PROVEN path to success in America ( Family, Education, Hard work, Personal Responsibility, respecting the Rule of Law) in favor of Fundamentalist Progressivism that is a repudiation of everything necessary for normal people to succeed.

He’s selling snake oil. Any parent with any sense would tell their kid to steer clear of what he’s peddling, as much as drugs, alcohol or any other thing that keeps you further away from the pursuit of Truth.

Well said, Lsupimp.

I think his intentions are well-meaning, and I'm sure he get's many pats on the back for bravery and the like that has kept him on this course, but by using systematic oppression as his buzz theme he's boiling down a very complicated issue to a specific denominator...systematic racism, that is only a symptom of the problem.

And treating a symptom is never the cure. it's like treating strep throat with a cough drop, might make if feel better for a few minutes, but it ain't going away.

someone should have whispered in his ear before he made the decision to kneel and now to complain about the consequences; "da game you need to play in order to get paid is not the one on the field playa..."

Ok, that's fine, but that doesn't mean he's selfish. He protested against what he believed to be unjust using the platform he has. He didn't believe the people in the impoverished communities that he was protesting for had a voice. In my book, that's the total opposite of selfish whether you agree with his position or his manner of protest or not.

The manner in which he chose to protest makes it more about him and that is selfish. Police shootings are local neither the Flag or the military or the NFL has anything to do with it.
