It’s 2018, I promise I’m not shocked that people are offended by something.

So your argument is that people should just ignore what he is doing when he is the one shoving it in our faces during a time when politics usually aren’t involved?

If he protested this shite on his own time I can guarantee you there wouldn’t even be a thread right now and he would probably be playing football. It’s not WHY he did it, it’s HOW he did it.

Yeah, man. I get that he’s in the entertainment business, actions have consequences, that we’re all flag waving, free market capitalists here. I also get that people are actively rooting against someone to not get a job for nothing more than having a different opinion than them. Why are you so offended, he’s probably a good guy that has a different opinion that doesn’t match yours. Rooting for him to not be signed sounds like something I’d make fun of a SJW for.

I think you are misrepresenting the reality (probably intentionally).

There are tons of examples of fans and consumers accepting a difference of opinion. But, deciding to offend the paying customer during the paid event is different. Then he continuously doubled down over and over again when the customer expressed displeasure. You are trying to frame it as simply rooting against someone for a difference of opinion and that's just not what happened. That's intellectually dishonest, and it reveals the weakness of your position.

Thanks, Crowder. I have no doubt you know your economics. I didn’t agree with Reid either, but it also didn’t ruin my Sundays.

frick Reid. You chose to disrespect the flag. They can choose not to sign you. There is no right to have a team give you money to play football.

You do realize there were players that made statements like “if you don’t agree with us you shouldn’t come to the games. We don’t want you at the games.”

Those statements were made. And you find it odd that people stopped watching, and rooted for other players to take their jobs so that the game that they once loved watching would return to a non political sporting event?

I guess I’m just confused why you have this “I’m more mature than you” attitude because you want Eric Reid to have a job. Do you know Eric Reid personally? I doubt he gives a shite about your job. That’s why I don’t give a shite about his. I just want to watch football.

I don’t recall those quotes.

I didnt really think of it as being more mature, and am fairly certain he does not give a shite about my job. I just didn’t have the energy for outrage about this, I guess. I thought Frances McDormand was an annoying SJW bitch when she made the rounds on the awards circuit these past couple of months, but I still watched Three Billboards.

The notion that I can be a great signing for your team for cheap, not because of my skill set but because I’ve protested systemic oppression, is ludicrous. If you think is, then your mindset is part of the problem too

Sorry Eric, should have learned from the Dixie Chicks.

He doesn’t get it, ugh....If I’m an owner I don’t sign him either, cause he’s too dumb to figure it out, and the team doesn’t need that kind of distraction and incompetence....

It's 2018. Most "oppression" in this country is caused by the one being "oppressed".

You don’t see how this creates and “us vs them” mentality with the fans. It makes the fans feel like the NFL players think they don’t need the fans. When the fans are the ones that spend their hard earned money to pay their salaries.

So I’m not surprised people want other players to take their place

Yeah, that’s a completely stupid thing to say, but that wasn’t Eric Reid’s quote.

A new study of more than 6000 pairs of twins finds that academic achievement is influenced by genes affecting motivation, personality, confidence, and dozens of other traits, in addition to those that shape intelligence. The results may lead to new ways to improve childhood education. “I think this is going to end up being a really classic paper in the literature,” says psychologist Lee Thompson of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, who has studied the genetics of cognitive skills and who was not involved in the work. “It’s a really firm foundation from which we can build on.” Researchers have previously shown that a person’s IQ is highly influenced by genetic factors, and have even identified certain genes that play a role. They’ve also shown that performance in school has genetic factors. But it’s been unclear whether the same genes that influence IQ also influence grades and test scores.

I know it’s not Eric Reid’s quote. This whole thing is bigger than Eric Reid. The quote and other actions by the players creates an “us vs them” mentality with the fans and players. If you are on the other side the fans aren’t going to support you. And Eric Reid is a very vocal leader of this whole issue. I’m not saying it’s right I’m just saying what the current attitude is.

Didn't he say he was ok risking his future in the league as a result of protesting?

Now that he can't get signed, it's because of the protests. Reid has become a clown show.

Wow!!!!! “Oppressors” the NFL has been over paying Whites, BLACKS and other colors, and they are feeling oppressed?!!? I’m white and have been harassed by the cops many times! Cops are cops. They are trained to mess with people. If I was standing at a store at 2am selling bootleg cds and carrying a hand gun, I’m 100% sure the cops would come mess with me... Just saying. Get over it and realize your actions have consequences.
