The first step is, whatever your offense is, to assign players to roles that fit them and have them develop those skills from one practice to the next, over the course of many months and years

So the article assumes that the players already are proficient at their positions. I'm wondering if that includes route trees or zone blocking schemes?

Well, if it works on Madden who are we to question it's validity on the football field.

The article would've been better if they would've named it.

People are trying to excuse the entire offensive production because of the O line which is not the whole story either. The truth is both the OC and o line were not great this year. It's up for debate how much of the blame to put where though.
OC-30% blame. OL-70% blame.

It all goes back to "Bottom of the Barrel" Miles-Grimes OL recruiting for 5 years and continuation of the SOS under Orgeron-Cregg.

I haven't seen anything of substance to make me believe this program will evolve Offensively and win the SEC West anytime in the near future. Not any OL DM's (Difference Makers) in the program. I see lots more 9-3 seasons on the horizon until there is substantial change and evolution!

Wasn't Oregon under Chip Kelly a team that only ran a few different types of plays? They would just master the plays they run?

Could be confused with another team/coach though.

I'm just down for whatever brings the most success. And I still wish we would go a different direction offensively from any previous regime.

I can't vouch for how simple Kelly's offense was but you aren't installing an offense in 3 days or a week.

EVERYTHING is the coaches fault according to some LSU fans.

Those fans are correct. Why doesn’t Nick Saban and Dabo Sweeny have these problems? Why do you struggle with this?

Saban lost to ULM his first year at bama. If I remember right he lost to UAB his first year at LSU. I don't know why people even bother to argue with you people. All you do is look for anything to gripe about. It's all trolling. There's no way that you or the others actually believe what you all post.

Some players are just too dumb to get it. On my high school team we had dumb rocks that could not even remember snap count much less decipher an audible at the line. We ended up having to tell some to just watch another offensive player and go when they did.

In all fairness, most of these kids didn’t run the Wing T in high school so it was a lot to learn.

Steve and Ed obviously couldn't say the offense sucked, so excuses valid or not were the only answers to our shitty offenses which get no more results and look just as bad as the shitty Les Miles' offenses.

Both Ed, Les & staffs were deer in headlights against Bama when lesser teams played much better offense than us against Nick. If we play frightened offense again next season against Bama, I'd be happy to see Ed & staff get run out of town.

Ensminger said on the radio the other day the offensive line couldn’t communicate correctly or else he could have installed 30% more of the offense.

Yeah but he didn't teach it to the players in 3 days.

If you don't know your blocking assignments by the twelfth game of the season you never bothered to learn them and that's on you for being a lazy arse. The coaches can't block and tackle for you.

Only LSU would fire a coach for his offensive woes, then hire a DL coach to fix those problems, while promoting the TE coach from the offensively challenged regime to OC.

LSU deserves this shite show.

I don't believe one word that comes out of any of these coaches mouth(s).

The LSU football offensive coaching staff is a joke and embarrassing. Pitiful.

Anything they say is a lie. LSU won't be a championship program with these people in charge.

Ensminger is saying those players that they recruited are dumb. So maybe use the UCF philosophy:
2015 - 2018 their average recruiting class is in the mid-60’s with the highest being ranked 55 and lowest 72. That tells you everything about this clown show. It is ALL ABOUT COACHING AND SCHEME.
