This is bizzaro world. Everyone giving props to an OC basically admitting he is incapable of doing his job. Joe Brady is an unknown quantity whose experience is as a GA at Penn St and watching Sean Payton run his offense. Forgive me if I think it's crazy he is now basically our de facto OC. You people do realize there are plenty of experienced/successful OCs who run the spread?

It’ll be interesting in crunch time.

I just hope Steve doesn't reject Joe's plays often. I think Joe is an innovative person who can come up with plays that will confuse the defense.

He’s never called a game at any level in his entire life

That's what a smart OC is supposed to do. Bring in the expertise for a major overhaul.

A smart head coach goes out and hires an OC with experience in the offense he wants to run. He doesn’t bank on a GA teaching it to his elderly OC unfamiliar with the concepts.

That too. Which way will Ensminger go with the game on the line or in a situation where they HAVE to get a first down. Will he resort to what he knows or defer to Brady? Could be a strange dynamic just as it could be wildly successful. For me, that might be the biggest impacting factor going into the season.

You look at this in a bad way. I see it as a positive.

Brady has never been an OC. Let him have a year to learn the position before giving it to him. This is a great thing O is doing.

So you propose that in 2020 LSU should roll with a first year QB and first year OC?

Sounds like Brady is the true OC and Ensminger is a figurehead on his way out.

Yeah. I don't see the issue with it at all either.

Orgeron is preparing his excuses years in advance. But just wait until next season!

No I’m sorry you must accept Joe Brady is the greatest offensive mind in the game. I don’t know why you have a tough time accepting this, it’s not like O has built up someone’s offensive prowess heading into the season before or anything...

O clamped down on Canada, an experienced OC with skins on the wall, but he’s totally going to let a GA with no in-game experience call whatever he wants.

Orgeron didn't pick Canada. Big difference.

I think a lot of y’all are forgetting that most of the time Em is a pretty good play caller. I’d like to see how this Brady and Steve romance works out.

Ok but he also hand picked Steve and old man river to overhaul the offense. He spent the whole offseason telling us what an advanced offensive mind Steve is and now he was on the same page as his OC so all would be well....fast forward a few months and O has to hire what basically appears to be another OC and he’s out there selling the same shite of “finally having the offense he wants!”

Maybe Brady is great but the amount of people that believe it as fact despite really nothing to go off but interviews of people saying nice things about him....well that speaks to how effective a propaganda machine can be I guess

Eh... he had really good games vs Ole Miss, UGA and UCF. Unless I'm forgetting a game, he's been pretty average to me.

What system? Brady’s? Ensmimger’s? The “hybrid” “system” people tend to think we’re going to run this year?

Maybe Brady is exactly what we need this year and he will transition seamlessly to OC next year. I just can’t help but wonder how this will work in practice.
