No other major program in the country would even consider hiring E as their OC.

Which seems to be a trend in the Orgeron regime. O just hired a DC and (de facto) OC who had no real demand whatsoever. That, after hiring a 100 year old WR coach whose other job prospect was retirement. A WR who was brought in to actually coach, because the (then) WR coach couldn't actually do it.

Is O running a football team or the United Way? If you are down and out in the coaching profession O will bring you in. Anybody with ambition to move up in the coaching world need not apply.

Bruh....are you actually trying to convince me that Ensminger could’ve gotten the Panthers job if he wanted it? LMAOOOOOO

Never said that. But he didn’t want it anyway. So that is why you can’t use your little “well Carolina didn’t hire him” thing that you are trying to do.

agreed. Anyone with half a brain knew who was running that offense and calling the plays.

You don’t make the jump from college passing game coordinator to NFL OC by not calling the plays

How many defenders left the team after he said that?

and pays them absurd money.

It's all about supply and demand. If no other schools are competing for a coach, we can get him on the (relative) cheap.

Most coaches worth their salt would kill to coach at LSU - we don't need to overpay, unless it's a bidding war, and then we have to decide if we want to.

But just throwing huge money at guys who aren't in demand? Hell no.

Ensminger’s biggest issue isn’t his play calling. It’s that he never seems to add any new wrinkles in the passing game. He may throw it a lot, but it is about as vanilla as a passing game can get.

So unforeseeable circumstances are a reason an offense might not be as good as it’s coach? Just making sure I understand your point.

I think Brady showed Ensminger how to play "Words with Friends" to distract him from interfering.

I’m not. I didn’t bring up Carolinas offensive production; somebody else did. I’m just encouraging you to apply excuses fairly. For example, either starters who are unable to play affect the quality of the product on the field or they don’t. It can’t just matter for Joe Brady and not for Steve Ensminger.

Now do the roster for LSU.

You can’t have it both ways.

GWIW, I said Emsminger should have been moved up and Brady should have been the OC.

The funny thing is, with the ways things have gone, y’all would have wanted Brady fired.

They wouldn’t have gone this way offensively with Brady.

You mean the one in which Brennan was averaging 370+ yards/game passing in his first season as a starter?

Brennan played in Brady’s offense so at least he knows what should be happening. Even if the playcalling is wrong he can change it to the right call or maximize the wrong one. Plus we were going up against garbage teams.
