Orgeron doesn't have the equity built up to withstand losing to a team like Troy. All of those coaches you mentioned have/had a ton of equity built up from national championship wins and overall excellence. He doesn't have the same margin of error that those guys have, sorry.

Anyone that coaches long enough is going to have some stinkers, but for the good ones, those are few and far between. With Saban, we can literally point to two games in his entire career, UAB and ULM. With Orgeron he's had two such stinkers THIS SEASON.

All we were told is how great of a motivator he was going to be, and he's learned from his mistakes. It's literally his only job and he's having trouble consistently getting these guys up to play. And he's making all new mistakes.

I've never been sold on O and I still doubt he can get it done on a consistent basis. All I know is there was something wrong, very wrong, going on with this team during the losses to State and Troy. Something internal. I don't know if we'll ever know exactly what it was. Sure, there are rumors O was too soft on the players, meddling in the offense, etc., but rumors always fly when things are going bad.

The team seems to have turned things around, at least temporarily, but will they maintain their focus? Only time will tell, and that comes from the top down.

My hope is that O will stick to what he's good at - recruiting and pandering to the fan base, and let his coordinators do their thing; however, if the rumors are true, sooner or later it seems like he just can't help himself. Whether it's ego or he just feels compelled to micromanage things, he needs to resist the urge.

A coach that needs his AD to stop him from meddling in his OC and DC planning after he claimed he wouldn't interfere when campaigning for job that his previous tenure at Ole Miss was due to overly interfering is not a smart man.

Running off your OL depth was not a sign of a smart man.

LSU is not going to succeed in a big way under Orgeron. It's plain and simple. They may not collapse like many feared after the start of this season, but people need to stop acting like he's even a good HC now because LSU beat a bad UF team and had a nice win against an Auburn team that hadn't played anyone worth a damn outside of Clemson.

Regardless of the dire predictions it wasn't a fact Aub would win, it was a question mark. Same holds true for Orgeron, it's not a fact that he will fail

Wait...are there people think think Ed Orgeron is a smart man? Not smart in terms of general football acumen...but smart in a general sense?

Really?

Terry Bradshaw was mocked for being dumb his whole career. Last time I checked, he won multiple Super Bowls & is a multimillionaire.

Opp's of Terry Bradshaw constantly mocked his intelligence, this stupid boy from the south can't even spell 'football'. He only won 4 Super Bowls. Bradshaw once compared his hands to Pesident Nixon, have the picture in an Encyclopedia, Nixon's hands were small.

Well I guess every coach is a fricking genius since they've all had comebacks

I'd have to say O is pretty damn smart, cause he is a Head football coach in the SEC and is being payed 3.5 million a year on a 5 year contract with a 12 million by out. And he gets payed NOT to coach! Just ask Alleva!

Enough with the bullshite, that O's not coaching at LSU!

Breaking News - Orgeron is coaching LSU, motivating and developing LSU's players. He coaches LSU's practices. It's coach O, not Aranda, Canada nor Alleva telling the players and coaches when to practice and for how long and what LSU needs to work on. He coaches LSU's top recruits, he sells LSU and its game plan to LSU's players and recruits, and apparently everyone is buying it, except for some LSU fans here.

Wouldn't be surprised to find out someone else does this

WOuldn't that be those recruiting them???

If he is not in charge of either side of the ball and lets coaches coach, how does he know what is going on?

Just for the record. I have often praised and pummeled LSU's coaches, Miles and now Oregon. I first look for a reason to praise LSU's coach, if I can't find any after an embarrassing loss then I pummel them. Others just look for a reason to pummel O, regardless.

Okay, I do sometimes resemble your last remark.

Be glad to own this statement if you could link to where I have recently said O was "great."

You can't because (1) I didn't say it and, (2) you're a fking meathead.

Try to enjoy...if you can..... the fact that in successive weeks, we've beaten not one but two top 25 teams...one on the road...after presumably being left for dead.

This is all I'm doing. I'm not back on the "O Train" or any of this other ghey shite yall like to throw out as witty retorts.

K?

Huh? Auburn was top ten (AP poll only) but I'm pretty certain Florida was ranked 21 when we beat them in the swamp.

And truth be told, Florida was probably lucky to be in the top 25 the way they beat Tennessee and Kentucky.

The 12m buyout is there so that other teams can't use his potential being let go as a recruiting tool. It takes that argument away because of the size of the buyout as a cost to the university.

How does that stupid mess of a quote in the OP get 200 upvotes??

I'm not even saying O is dumb I just think that middle school rambling word vomit getting its own thread to be reposted and getting so much play on this board is hysterical

Looks like there are more minions/alters in Prince's brigade than we imagined
