They are testing heard out there but he isn’t ready yet. S Jones got the best of him several times. We have 2-3 solid RG options w Lunsford, Frazier and Martinez. I’m expecting E Jones to stay at RT for now.

No it doesn’t. Ed Ingram was a day 1 starter in the NFL, while Adrain MaGee was undrafted and barely made a practice squad. MaGee started over Ingram, even after Ingram was completely healed from a minor injury.

Lots of more talented guys sit the bench until they have enough experience to be counted upon.

Let’s give Heard a TE # just to see the carnage of running behind Frazier, Jones, and Heard for 10 or so snaps a game.

Heard might’ve gotten some reps with 1st team today, but our starting 5 are clearly Campbell, Turner, Frazier, Dellinger, & Jones.

That will be how they start against FSU, but if Heard is pushing for time now it will be sooner rather than later that he breaks into the starting five permanently.

Just because he saw time with the 1s at practice doesn’t mean he’s ready to unseat anyone.

BK is too smart and too well thought out to not allow 2nd string lineman get experience with the 1s on occasion in case of injury. Can’t have Heard never playing with the 1s and expect him to play well if called upon. Same goes for Emory Jones if he never practices at guard but is expected to just slide on in if any injury occurs

What it means is that the coaches recognize the talent and are giving him opportunities to prepare him for future rolls. That is all.

Kelly directly stated that he prefers experience in a press conference recently. However, the question he was asked was how will the RB room play out. Not much of a stretch to realize that this is Kelly’s mindset. Go safe first. Then over the course of the season, things work themselves out.

100%. People here freaking out like he’s gonna cause the whole line to shuffle with Frazier as the odd man out. Shouldn’t be surprised, this is tRant

I was wrong about Heard. In my limited watching of him he looked stiff to me. Again. I was wrong if they are already bumping him out to tackle.
