I don’t like it but it’s the truth.

And it will be because of the 2019 recruiting class. Whatever the outcome of next season, Ed will be campaigning hard to not make a change and ruin a potentially stellar recruiting class. Now if he completely flops on the recruiting trail then anything is possible, but most of these kids won’t be deciding until February

What’s the point in keeping him to get good recruits only to go 8-4 with them?

I could see him finish the 2019 class. Fire him after then promote Aranda

Hiring (or keeping) a head coach just so you don't blow up one recruiting class is arse backwards and is a big reason why we are in this mess to begin with.

If he stumbles out of the gates in 2019 he's going to get the boot just like Les.

Aranda with the talent he has at his disposal next year may be good enough to salvage O's job.

Offense has a lot of questions though

Given that coaches are being fired regularly during the season now, I don't know if that will save him...especially if the kids naturally are February deciders.

If LSU is underperforming, a strong move in November could easily be viewed as the best path to landing a strong 2019 class.

I’m not saying this is what they should do. I would have already fired him.

I am saying that’s what the narrative will be

Orgeron is a snake. He may appear dumb but he makes moves in the shadows.

I could easily see A lot of these players be verbal commits but not announce until signing day. Orgeron’s excuse to Alleva will be that if he is fired all of those players will decommit

I think 7-5 or worse and he's gone by the end of November. I also think 7-5 is a real possibility.

I like Aranda, but the D needs to perform better than they did vs ND.

I cannot believe this man is the head coach of the Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers. It's horrible.

Yes, most reasonably people are expecting a sub-10 win season this year.

a "pretty" 7-5 will season not get him fired
an "ugly" 7-5 season where all losses are by double digits might .. and even then I doubt it IN YEAR 2

Well maybe I am already biased by my extreme hatred for his hiring in the first place.

And yes you can do whatever you want if you have balls. Orgeron being fired would be news for like one day. He is a career Dline coach who got in verbal and possibly physical altercations with his first year 1.5 mil offensive coordinator and had a very mediocre year with a loss to Troy and historic loss to Miss st. Still have offensive problems and not outstanding recruiting. Already broke promises to recruit at another level and have the best coordinators that he won’t interfere with.

So, yes, he could be fired.... if our leadership had the balls
