He's paid top $$ to make decisions for this program. Let the man do his job.

Do you seriously think O wouldn't get pressure quick for NOT performing? Hell, he got some of it here on Day 1.

Craig has had personality clashes at more places than not. You do the math

I must be one of the few who don't care why he made the changes.
It's his program now. He can choose his own staff and hire who he pleases.
The assistants serve at his discretion.

As a retired manager/administrator I've inherited other folks management teams before. Some members were great. Others were competent but didn't have the same "vision" or couldn't accept changes. They just weren't a good "fit". Others were not as competent or just plain dead wood. It doesn't matter. You do what you need to do to achieve results.
O had his reasons. Time to move on.

Let's be clear, the WR's stunk. In typical Miles fashion, Craig was hired to recruit, being a position coach was an afterthought.

Agree... having a senior and 2 juniors, we should have seen at least above average play. It seemed like there was no emphasis on technique

Yea, if it weren't for dipshite Miles, LSU could lead the NCAA in drafted WRs.

The hires are done. It's not McDonald or Johnson. Everyone is gonna be super excited. They will be announced tomorrow.

I respect O for making this decision. Since he is a really likable guy a lot of people tend to think he is not capable of making difficult decisions for the program. This shows he is willing to take whatever steps necessary to make the program the best it can be. I feel very confident in his ability to be successful in running the program. FWIW

By framing your statement in this way, you're basically saying that you hope O isn't successful.

Wanting the head coach of your favorite team to fail? You aren't a true tiger fan.

from some of our fans perspective coach O was a bad hire because he didn't fit their image of a home run hire. that image was a proven nationally recognized coach that would give them a big "wow factor". a lot of these fans never hired or fired a person in their life;much less had responsibility for the results of an organization. these fans painted themselves in a corner intellectually and their pride was wounded when we hired what they considered a local "good ole boy". and his resume' at ole missed stunk. of all the HC's around the country that were "hirable" I think coach O is as good or better. I DEFINITELY would have been happy with Fisher, Meyer or Saban. I THINK I would have been happy with Gundy or Herman. but Orgeron has really impressed me so far. I think he has indeed been preparing himself for a second shot at being HC and that showed by how he corrected our on the field problems immediately and how decisive he has been on firing coaches that he felt LSU could improve on. a senior executive has to have the best people to compete at a very high level. it seemed les miles had some of these guys but he inherited some of them. he got lucky with chavis due to the players we had but he made many really bone headed hires and promotions.

imo, LSU had some great teams with miles due to great players and average to poor coaching. I feel that coach O will be a better coach than miles simply by recruiting quality guys to fill team needs instead of class rating and letting his very competent coaches do their job.

So where does LSU go from here? A couple of obvious names that are likely to come up are Memphis wide receivers coach David Johnson and Kansas running backs coach Tony Hull. Both are former high school coaches from the New Orleans area — Johnson was Leonard Fournette’s head coach at St. Augustine, and has been mentioned for staff jobs here before. Both, obviously, fit a very similar profile to Juluke. **Ed. Note, 8:18 a.m., Friday - Watch for Johnson to maybe be announced within 24-48 hours.** Some other names that may come up include:

As the valley shook thinks it will be David Johnson and will be announced soon

Seriously, O and Austin knocked these hires out of the park. The only ppl who won't be ecstatic with these guys are bama fans.

Edit: no, we are not hiring anyone away from bama
