I don't understand so many first pitch swings they do at all

4 hits for the game, got it...I wonder what excuse is pm gonna give for lack of hitting today? Last night he blamed it on weather and opposing pitchers throwin 70mph and below. Glad Cabrera hit a 2 run bomb....or we would still have 0.

Maybe so.
And if we’re still having this conversation in April I’ll agree with you. But right now it’s February. It’s not the time to make broad generalizations about any team.
Correct, but you can’t hide your head in the sand.
It’s not normal to have so many positions up for grabs at this juncture.
Right now 2B, SS, LF, CF are up for grabs.
C is solid, but we don’t know if he can hit.
You build up the middle. Up the middle we are still searching. That is not good for the D.

Would love to see the melt if we had a pitcher with 120 pitches second weekend of the year

Cabrera up, Dugas on 1st, Mathis on 2nd, 2 outs
EKU making a pitching change first, righty Abbott summoned

Especially if he was in line for the loss.

Incredible how this team is struggling at the plate. So glad it’s early enough to identify the problems and hopefully correct it. If pitching can continue to hold up, they can scratch 4 or 5 runs and be in the games. Come SEC time, all bets are off though. This living on the edge against less talented teams will drive your nerves up as a fan.

no pitch, Cabrera called time
strike, 2-1

outside, walk!

I don’t see how I’m hiding my head in the sand. I was just prepared for what we’re seeing.

It’s not normal to have position battles after starters graduate? Weird.

Our starting SS, 2B, CF, and RF all either graduated or got drafted. They were all multi-year starters and we’re currently holding open competitions for those spots. Once again please explain what’s wrong with that
And maybe after you explain it to me you can explain it to Skip because he did the same damn thing
