Just like we all knew it would be. Why are y’all surprised. Did you not pay attention this offseason? Did you not realize how many first year starters are in the lineup?

We have been shouting from the mountain tops all year that the pitching is going to have to carry us through some struggles the first half of the season and here we are.

Here’s the thing about our hitting.

You gave the guys that played last year and you have the newcomers.
Last year guys like Dugas, Gio, Hughes, Bianco, and Willis all struggled. Garza, Beloso and Cabrera all did fine. Many blamed the hitting coach. Well we got a new hitting coach and the guys that struggled last year are all struggling.
Now we see newcomers advancing past guys that were on the team last season. Mathis looks good with the bat, but there are mixed results with others. People say wait, they are rookies and it’s early.
That’s all true, but you have to wonder about our overall recruiting. Too many just can’t hit.

No runs on only 71 pitches in 7 innings, I’d say so

You have to live his efficiency. You have to know the D should love to play behind a guy like this.

Maybe so.

And if we’re still having this conversation in April I’ll agree with you. But right now it’s February. It’s not the time to make broad generalizations about any team.
