Everyone should stop for a second and appreciate that they are getting to watch Crews play another year.

DJ Lemahieu at LSU:

33 starts at 2B

Absolutely agree. Walker is the Goat. Super hard to beat his numbers.

On top of his numbers, it just always felt like when we needed a big play, Walker made it. I haven't look at BA with RISP in the late innings of games, so I don't know how they compare there, but Walker was like a Joe Burrow in that you always felt like he'd make the play to win the game or get the momentum back.

GOAT unless Crews has that kind of magic about him this year.

I think my list prediction end of the year:

Walker
Crews
Ben
Nola
Furniss

And the margins between them are razor thin. We can have a 5 face Rushmore

If your playing a pickup game and those five are available; the first position player would be Crews and the first pitcher would be Nola.

Crews speed and defense put him over Walker and Furniss. Nola’s dominance puts him over BM in my opinion.

People are not talking about him much, but Joey Belle was a dude. I think he would be the next man up on that list

4 starts at SS

Just because Pawl didn’t know how to use him doesn’t change what he is

If it was the 9th inning and I needed a hit to drive home a guy on third, I'm picking Walker, not Crews. Crews is better on defense but different positions.

And Ben/Nola was a true tossup. Ben had some truly dominant stuff, Nola never seemed to miss the strike zone.

They have to at least make Omaha in order for him to get that kind of label.

Paul didn’t have a shortstop better than him at the position until Nola emerged as a freshman.

Dr. Eddy Furniss Is the second best player I watched at LSU besides Todd Walker. I love Crews but them two had better careers at LSU. Crews will be a better pro but college player no.

I was at the SHSU and The kid hits the ball REALLY hard every time he makes contact. He is clearly the best hitter on the field every game he plays

If we're talking college, I'd take Walker - with a little hesitation. His career BA will be about 30 pts higher than Dylan's and Dylan has already struck out more times in 2 seasons than Todd did in 3. Crews should finish with more HRs by about 10-15.

Walker’s combination of talent and production will probably never be touched. A solid argument for Crews over Furniss can be made though.

It's so hard comparing a position player to a pitcher.
He's definitely our best ever outfielder over Belle, but not by allot(Crews is far better defensively). While Crews was really good as a freshman, Walker is the only player we have had who played at a first team all american level from day one and his entire career with no drop off.

It's even tough comparing McDonald and Nola. Nola was better as a freshman and sophmore, Ben was better as a junior but Nola was an all american, so it wasn't by much.

I'm just glad we have had the pleasure of seeing so many great players and there are too many variable of the years to have a fair comparison of them.

Todd Walker was the best pure hitter I have ever seen at LSU and his numbers are stratospheric: BA's .400, 395, .393. INSANE consistency. Runs, RBI's, slugging %, 4 CWS homers, etc. And clutch as they come. I still remember that screamer he hit in the 9th against Long Beach State to win that CWS game. And to think the LBS Coach INTENTIONALLY walked Russ Johnson (I believe it was Russ), so they could pitch to Todd. I literally laughed out loud when he did that. First pitch. Laser shot that the first baseman had no time to react to. Ballgame.
...Crews has a chance with a great year.
