Has he? Or is he acting like most good pitchers and we did not see it before because he was not as good?

Well he yelled at the ump multiple times when he was throwing clear balls. Most good pitchers don’t do that.

Sure but few yell at the ump on clear balls. The ones he chose to do this on weren’t even really close.

He took a shite on the team who told him he wasn't good enough to pitch meaningful innings here. How did you think he was going to act?

He wouldn't have been a “prick” if LSU’s bats did anything of note.

There is no argument there. Not only did he allow the pitcher to show up multiple times, but he also rewarded him for it.

Ehh. He pitched well and obviously wanted to beat lsu but he left a few hanging balls that lsu just missed the barrel. Could have been different just his day

I have followed college baseball for 40 years and there is one thing I have always heard, sort like an unwritten rule. A coach, batter or pitcher CANNOT question/argue ball and strike calls.

Guess the ump last night didn't get the memo.

To add to that, one of the biggest things league officials look for when evaluating umpires is their ability to remain calm under pressure and block out the noise. They teach them that the call is the same whether it is in front of 50 people or 25,000.

Plenty of guys have gotten passed over due to one bad incident.

Throwing a tantrum after every call that doesn’t go your way?

Two things.
1. He was a good pitcher here
2. Quit whining

Dutton looked good.
But he as well as AU looked like a team that had that Friday night game circled for a while.
While we looked like a team that is focused on the grind and what it’ll take to be where we want in the end.
It was a stark contrast.
I’m not sure when it’s all done AU will still be standing. I guess time will show us. It was just a weird dynamic for the long haul of a baseball season.
