List them so I can blow up their resume. Let's start with Les Miles since you are probably still up his arse.

CLM - Had a dream schedule yet lost to a Wisconsin team that had no offense. Additionally, he lost to an Auburn team that was about to fire their coach. Lastly, his two wins came against an FCS school that we were beating 13-10 wity 4 minutes to go in the half, and 23-20 against an SEC west opponent that has only beaten us twice in what...25 years? Both were at home and both were typical ugly to watch shite shows. That is just this year. Next!

I agree. Should have hired a search firm. Like we've always done.

Didn't we have a search firm when we got Curly?

Everyone was crying for Brandon Harris to start when Jennings was having trouble, so we got Harris.

Then everyone wanted Etling to to start once we got Harris. So once we have a three and out, we want to get rid of Etling.

Everyone was wanting Miles fired, so he gets fired and we get Ed O., who doesn't do too bad considering what he inherited. He plays Bama close, thanks to Aranda's D; we run up and down the field vs. FL, we can't do squat in the red zone, we fumble, fumble, etc. and it becomes O's fault.

We have way too many experts on this board who once we get what we want we don't want it anymore.

What kills me is that "fans: have been calling for Miles to let his coaches coach and thats all we wanted out of him. We finally get a HC who has said "I will go get the best coordinators and let them coach" and we are melting because its not a guy who has done decent in a weak conference.

LSU just hired a cheap yes man... O isn't required to coach he is only required to recruit and make for good TV. Say all the right things to the fans and talk about his love for Louisiana

We will look back on this that we dodged a huge bullet not hiring Jimbo or Herman.

Completely agree, TigerPaul. I know you wish Coach Oeaux the very best, as do all true Tiger fans. But we definitely need a new Athletic Director. From Alleva's pitiful performance, with so much time on LSU's side for a comprehensive search, it seems that Alleva must have tunnel vision. To wait until the 11th hour and let Jimbo shoot for highway robbery shows total incompetence on the AD's part. His history at Duke and here only confirms it.

I agree...I think Herman may just be another Sumlin...not good enough to win anything....not bad enough to fire

Alabama promoted Mike Dubose, their DL coach, to HC in the 1990's.

Dubose was a disaster. Oregon is about to fire Helfrich who was their OC and got promoted without any HC experience. Now Oregon is a bottom tier team in the PAC-12.

You might get lucky promoting a coordinator, but there's risk. Better to hire a proven HC, especially when you're an elite program. Let the coordinators prove it at lower schools, like Saban, Meyer, and Harbaugh all did.

I melted for like 5 min then realized he was not the right fit for our university. We need strong leadership that can handle the rigors of an SEC schedule and facing Nick Saban every year. Once Herman realized what he was about to sign up for he crawfished like a worm and ran away quickly as possible. He played us and LSU how's that Herman dick feel for the Herman dick riders. Bottom line we still feel the effects of Nick Saban cause coaches are scared to be in same division as him and face him every year. Good look in Texas your gonna need it they are a bigger dumpster fire than we are

There was absolutely no reason to rush this hire and settle for a guy with a historically bad coaching history as a head coach.

Yea- there is..... showing confidence in your "guy" goes a long way.

Historically bad? Was Ole Piss at height of SEC dominance.
Last2 out of 3 stops have been successful . Give me a break.

Herman would've been a huge gamble. No one knows how it would've played out but I was always very worried that he is fools gold.

Herman spent most of his coaching career in Texas was a UT GA and has called UT his dream job.

I think once it became clear Strong would be fired it was over for LSU regardless of the $$ amount LSU might have offered.

He'll need sucess quickly as UT boosters aren't the patient type, to put it mildly.

Strong seems to have left him a solid, young team.

UT got their man and we'll see how he does...

Nick saban lost to uab and ulm.

First year with new programs, both coming off of terrible seasons, in my mind totally out of context comparison, but fair enough everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

quote:

While at Michigan State he won more than 7 games just once

Big 10 as opposed to AAC (look at the roll call in that league) 9-2 at Toledo as HC in his only year there and NFL DC under Belichick, once again, I don't think you have a valid argument there

quote:

I guess he is overrated and not worth the money.

pure hyperbole, though I'll give you at the time, there were many who wondered if his contract was over the top. His pedigree, however was pretty darn strong
