No offensive scheme in the world would be able to make up for this crappy O line play. Period.

The problem lies with Grimes and the lack of discipline this unit is displaying.

They simply suck. When you can't block, you can't run the ball. When you can't block, Etling has no time to hit a WR 20+ yards down the field let alone time to get off a pass.

The offense is offensive. But I don't think for a second it's on the shoulders of the play caller or the QB now that we're four games into the season.

(Also don't think it helps seeing WR's continue to drop passes for big plays)

he isn't the main problem but playcallin can be a little better to mask our line. More quick passes and such can be called

Maybe because it's a carbon copy of the last 10 years of offense we've seen at LSU? Now that they're talking about removing the pre-snap movement this will literally be the same offense. So we're paying Canada how much to change not one single thing? Seriously?!

Hopefully they can be caught

All I'm imagining is Brennan's first TD being stolen from him because Sullivan couldn't catch a quick pass

Not it’s not. At all.

It’s not been good, but it’s quite different than Cameron.

Maybe they can't block because they suck, and not Grimes?

I think the offensive blocking schemes are contributing to the issues. Guys look lost out there at times. Guys expecting a double team that never comes. Guy pulling when he's not supposed to. Guys not knowing how to pick up twists and stunts. Guys not picking up blitzes. I've seen very few times where guys are just physically being beaten.

Which gives me hope that they can improve the line play as the season progresses.

When Canada gets an OL our Ceiling is higher IMO, but yeah it's rough right now.

I don't think he realized how bad our OL was when installing the offense, because no one realized how bad our DL was. They had just stuffed Bama and Lamar Jackson. And our O was pushing them around in the fall camp.

Because this is LSU. If we don't score 50 and pitch a shutout every game, every coach should be fired! Hell, people were every talking shite on ARANDA. Can't make this up.

exactly , I would like to see an occasional I formation to run and pass out of, and shotgun throw over the middle.

If you were to grade out Canada I think he would get an A for getting plays in on time and for cutting down on the confusion pre snap

I would give his play calling a C minus.

And finally his QB development a B+ as it seems he has improved Etlings accuracy and touch and seems to have Breenan on the right path

It's a complex problem with complex solutions. At this point we are so thin and young, it would take a really extraordinary coach to make it work. This is the kind of personnel that drives teams to go full spread or something similar to compensate.

We are in the middle of the pack in total offense(72nd)/Scoring(78)/3rd downs(58)

Rushing/Passing is 180/200

Considering how awful the oline and WR play plus guices struggles its not awful. Lot of things need work though

Yes, the Air Raid, which emphasizes quick passing and a Screen Game to help mask Offensive Line deficiencies

I don't like Canada because it's too gimmicky. Just give us a spread guy that can develop QBs....
