In all fairness, are we somehow out of the running for a natty?

I bet his response to that question would have been honest and less attack mode had the Gators won the game.

I’m used to LSU recently finding ways to lose both the Clemson and Florida games… they won. playoffs is big picture, one W at a time gets us there. Ole Miss will be the big test

Yes, if we'd lost by 10 instead of winning by 10, his post-game attitude would probably be different.

No, my point was that LSU fans/media have the highest of standards and the history that produced those standards is why Kelly took the job to begin with. Our fans and media aren’t going to be satisfied with a win if it comes with obvious deficiencies, that’s been the case for decades for better or for worse.

On their own, both of those are good things.

We won the game and I’m very happy we are 3-0. But a lot of us are looking down the road. That probably goes against the 1-0 mantra but that’s what fans do.

It’s hard to look past the offensive woes when it just seems like a continuation of last years problems. Especially considering the fact that the defense made a monumental leap.

The most important part of that post was we WON by 10 points. There are many ways too win a game. BK took one of the more frustrating but sure ways, throw quick short passes, play solid special teams, and damn strong defense. Yes, it was frustrating. But yes, we won.

I don’t think it is wrong to recognize offensive issues and try to find solutions before hitting the meat of the schedule . BTW , Baker’s D played great !

Maybe he still doesn't understand what it takes to win when it matters.

FFS threads like prove he’s actually right about people being spoiled. He’s not stupid he knows the offense didn’t play well but we won anyway so he had that card to play. He ripped into the press in part to protect his team but also to send a message to them. Style points don’t matter anymore, win enough to get in the playoffs and then go from there. We spent almost he entire spring bitching about the baseball offense and bullpen weren’t good enough for o win in Omaha and then the win in Omaha. At least wait if/when he loses in January to say he doesn’t understand what it takes win big games

Unreal all the bootlicking in here. Never seen a coach given such a pass that Kelly is getting from all the posters in here. The offense has been objectively terrible. Cauble asked a straight forward question everyone wants to know. Thank God he didn't cower and doubled down on 3rd down specifically. Les Miles won a championship and his offense was constantly bashed on this forum. It was warranted because it was terrible too. Now everyone's hard legging for this clown? You've all gotten soft. Or are paid bots on Kelly's never ending staff.

Leaning on elite defense is a much more sustainable path to the playoffs in the expanded era than the alternative. Need both to win a natty but Tennessee, Penn State, Notre Dame, Georgia, Texas etc weren’t exactly offensive juggernauts last season.

No, but there's a huge difference between reasonable criticism and "fire this a-hole and everyone who works and plays for him immediately!"

That’s exactly my point

Yes we’re spoiled, we’re an elite program with a fanbase that expects excellence so don’t be surprised when the fans/media treat you like it. This is the job he took and the standards aren’t dropping for him or anyone else.

Like Nick Saban said many years ago… LSU fans have catastrophe syndrome.

Remind me when Nick Saban begged fans to help him outright buy players to transfer in for $600k+ a pop each for one year?

Kelly is the one that is getting paid $10 million and acting like we owe him rather than the other way around?

Bad coaching hires are inexcusable. A major hire/promotion that almost everyone knew was moronic and has proven so is on him.

If you want to call fans spoiled after begging them for money then go get effed.

You have to love morons like this. Benefiting the program? Something to gain?

Let me let you in on a little secret. Nobody gives a shite about you. And you aren’t that important enough to change or benefit the LSU program.

Not just you. Any of us. The vanity in your statement would be sad really if I wasn’t falling out of my chair laughing at you.

I don't disagree with that. I'm speaking of the OP who is so hurt that BK called him that.

LOL. He just wanted to celebrate an SEC win. Not explain the details of the conservative and subsequent lackluster game plan.
