Too late, I already counted Brennan out.

When LSU fans mention the name Brennan this year, the context will be, "Imagine how good our WR corps would be if we got Brennan Eagles."

Yeah, because young players are not capable of improvement.

Brennan has incredible arm talent, but from what I saw in the spring game he was a statue in the pocket. So until the offense line proves they can provide solid pass protection, I think a QB with some wiggle would be a better option.

Brennan is redshirting
Burrow is starting
Narcisse will have a package made for him
Not sure what will happen with McMillan

I agree with this. If McMillan transfers then I think Brennan will be the back up. He will still redshirt though, assuming they take full advantage of this new redshirt rule.

As I said in another thread. Burrow didn't transfer to stand on the sideline and hold a clipboard, he could have stayed at OSU for that.

Anything you read on the QB "battle", is just bullshite to feed the media.

Joe Burrow will be our starting QB.

I am almost certain the biggest thing holding Brennan back is his weight.
I don't think so. I think the biggest thing holding him back is the speed of the game. He hasn't adjusted. That's why he looked so uncomfortable in the spring game and seems to have lacked anticipation and threw some really bad INTs (and near-INTs).

Now, he doesn't look the part. And that does affect coaches. I doubt that's primary.

Where size/weight come into play is when, or if, he gets broke in half. Only then is it a big factor.

this is correct. Weight doesn't make him a good or bad QB.

Weight is only important regarding his ability to take hits over the course of a long season. Weight doesn't have a thing to do with accuracy, reading defenses, pocket presence, poise, leadership, etc.

Exactly. They can't just bring Narcisse in and run the ball every damn time. These coaches are gonna have to start using brain power and get somewhat creative when they use players like that or defenses will sniff that out when he trots onto the field.

Learning two new offenses in his first two years probably has something to do with it too.

We did this with Perrilloux and it worked pretty well. We won a National Championship that year.

Perilloux passed the ball too. They mixed it up somewhat with him.

There is no probably to it. Burrow didn't come here to play backup. Orgeron already knows who his starter is no matter what kind of jive talk he spits out to the media.

In my 55 years of watching LSU football, when a younger player takes the starting position away from an experienced player, its usually a good thing.

Yep. Kids and fans these days only care about winning right away. It's sad and it doesnt last. You build lasting winning programs they developed players. IF Brennan starts, he may have some growth pains, but by years end he would be seasoned, and next season, as a junior, be poised for 2 great years of winning.
Burrow is pushing everyone, and that's good.
