I'm sure he has a little hesitancy knowing that he can't make all the throws that he normally makes. Yet even with that, he's actually turning the ball over less. 5 interceptions in six games is less than 12 interceptions in 13 games.
So no, he's not turning the ball over more. I honestly think we'll see improvement from last year soon..
We can just agree to disagree. I don't have the energy to go back-and-forth.
We can revisit this when the season is over..)

I'm going to guess you haven't been watching games closely to tell he's actually fortunate the ball isn't getting turned over more. Against SC he's very lucky he didn't have 4 TOs in that game. He should've ended up with 2 fumbles and 2 INTs. One of those fumbles was absolutely critical. Actually, he did fumble both times he was just lucky enough for them to fall into his chest. He's also lucky the S didn't get a bigger jump on his INT to stay on his feet because that was probably going to be 6 points for SC which would've dramatically changed the game.

Nussmeier does not look like an NFL QB. He needs to enjoy the college game… I think he will make a great high school football coach.

I see. He's regressed because he's fumble prone now. Almost, would've, could've? lmao. Even with an injury that you don't know how it's affecting his throws,... and with a worse o-line protecting him,..he's still on track to throw less interceptions. He's still the same quarterback. Nothing he's doing has regressed. You saw him throw ducks earlier and some interceptions while injured and now you're confused.
I have nothing else to add..) Good luck

Burrow and JD made a leap in their second years as the starter. Thus far Nuss hasn’t. Injury? Lack of off season prep? Both? Something else?

How does Nuss compare to JB & JD?

So you want to compare him to easily two top 10 QBs in the NFL, arguably top 5, and then use that to say he is not good enough to play in the NFL? By your standards half the starting QBs in the NFL aren't good enough to be in the NFL.

Mentally he’s scared, he gets confused easily, he panics. Maybe it’s magnified because prior to him we had two of the calmest, coolest, most capable guys we’ve ever seen

Arm talent alone won’t cut it in the NFL

I don't disagree but I was commenting on the statement that he can't push the ball 35 yards down field. My point was when healthy, he has one of the top arms in college football.

This thread was also started in 2022 about Daniels, and the same fools were posting the same dumb shite. They just can’t understand the concept of development and improvement.

There are quite a few guys who made careers in the NFL and were or are turnover machines.
Tua has 61 turnovers in 70 games.
Geno Smith has 100 turnovers in 100 games
Jake Browning has 15 turnovers in 16 games.
Jameis Winston 137 turnovers in 105 games

He may not be a starter, but he could have a great career as a backup

We would win a national championship if one of those guys were our qb now. Nussmeier is nowhere near the player those guys were in college. There are backups on SEC teams that would be a better option for LSU at this point.

As for the NFL, no one is wasting a roster spot on him. He brings nothing to the table the NFL wants.

Yes, I thought before this season and still he will end up being a quality backup but I don’t see him being a starter of any significance

Last year was peak Nuss hype before his attempt at a bust NFL Career carrying a clip board. Never seen a player turn so bad with such high expectations. From the top pick and Heisman winner to the worst right at the start of the season.

The guy has the stronger arm out of JB and JD

It might be because of injury and for his sake I hope so, but on the last Russillo pod he shared some stats. Using chips in game balls to measure arm strength, Nuss is 172/177 in NCAA. Even accounting for injury it doesn’t make sense. The measure it during the week too and it gets worse throughout the week. I don’t know what’s going on but dude doesn’t have an arm this year.

Does he seem like a good backup? One of his weaknesses is decision making and reading a defense. You have to be able to do that to be a backup. Your job is to support the starter. I don’t see him having much future in the NFL at all.

No he doesn’t. Joe can make any throw on the field Nuss not so much.

NFL teams in today’s game want mobility as part of their QB. Not necessarily dual threat but have the ability to escape the pocket. Nuss doesn’t have it.
