Does Mike Jones Jr play any snaps against McNeese?

"WHO?" ..... funny stuff.. Now that we've got that over with...
I really hope they throw him in there to make some plays and get comfortable v. a team like McNeese. I just don't know how a guy who's played ATON of meaningful football at Clemson can't even see the field at LSU despite our poor play. Makes you wonder about personnel decisions.

Orgeron said he will play
quote:
Ed Orgeron said linebacker Mike Jones Jr. will play against McNeese State. A former nickel hybrid, Jones is still learning how to play inside, but Orgeron said he can tackle in space and cover.
“I want to see him out there (vs. McNeese). He’s an experienced player. It’s still an ongoing process for him, but he definitely can run, make plays in space, great in coverage. You’ll see him this week.”

yes.
you can't have TE's making 75 yd TDs and RBs decimating you untouched for 15 (or more yards) and at least, at bare bones minimum, let those players who allowed that know their jobs are in jeopardy.
You can't get reamed like that and not try something different.

I have no idea why LSU wouldn't give SEVERAL of the LBs and Safeties on their roster snaps this game. Those position groups have been AWFUL for 11 games now. Maybe those guys who haven't gotten on the field will be worse. But really, how much "worse" can it get?
I think it is ABUNDANTLY clear that the defensive debacle is SOLEY on Orgeron deciding he wants to implement HIS defensive approach (two different DC...same terrible results...ONE constant). So if the HC is not going to change his approach (and there is no reason to think he will) then the only thing they can change is personnel.

Can’t be worse than Clark

Orgeron said he was going to play. So he'll probably get a couple of series and never see the field again.

This tells me all I need to know about this staff. MJ Jr was a projected 1st or 2nd rd player by a lot of mock draft sites. Let’s move a guy from outside to inside. Strong was out of position on every big play last week. Why not let him play a hybrid role?

Yep out of position that gave UCLA points on the board.
