Yes. Teams like Ohio St. and Alabama reload year after year. The talent is absolutely here to do the same. With Aranda's defense, an improved special teams, and possibly a top-line O-coordinator, this team can make the playoffs.

Yes.

We had a great chance this year and I expect us to be better on both sides of the ball.

This. We had Bama on the ropes. We dominated Florida in every way but the score. Even the 2 losses under Miles were 1 play away.

we have a better chance than all but.. maybe 5 teams..
nope

it's going to take some actual above average play at QB. and we'll need White and (I guess) Alexander to step up big time at linebacker. (barring a miracle the ILB won't be better than Riley/Beckwith).
Safety is going to be a weak spot too.

this doesn't worry me; I'm assuming Etling will be there as game manager, and we have talent and good coaching on defense.

the Oline will have to be somewhat better.

no, the offensive line will have to be HUGELY better. Playoffs will require us to move on Alabama, and punch it in on short yardage. This is the weak link. It has been for several years.

Need to build up both lines as well as enough depth on both lines to where there is little drop off when substitutions are made. Until that happens, we will have good but not great seasons. It will take two to three recruiting classes to make that happen.

Considering we have one of the strongest strength of schedules in the entire country, as long as we lose 2 games or less, I think we are in.

Given that we have one of the most talented teams in the country, with Aranda returning, and one of the best Offensive Coordinators in the country coming in, I think it is a very real possibility.

Well I'm going to respond like this because every other year with Miles this question was asked and just about everyone said of course but they were wrong, we had Miles.

Now that they don't like the hire and O as HC they say No Way, but since I know the rant has no clue about football I'm going to say Hell Yes we do. Can't wait to see who is our next OC and the direction we go in. I just hope it's not too much of a different direction. We don't need that we need to be able to throw the ball all game if need be and also be able to play LSU football against others. We should be able to do both while playing great defense and I think we are on our way to doing that. Bunch of idiots up in here saying no just because they don't like the hire lol. Cry babies

I agree.

Lsu "fans" on this board are pathetic. This place is becoming overriden with vaginas.

Have a little confidence and support your team. In case you didn't know, if anything, you're supposed to be biased towards your team.

Hope y'all grow some balls and good luck with your miserable lives, pussies

Perhaps, but every time you take on Bama or some Big 10 team, it is essentially a war in the trenches. Bama has depth on both sides to where when one line rotates out another can come in and there is little to no drop off in quality of play. We have to build that same kind of depth to be able to handle those kinds of teams. It is also the reason that Bama is steamrolling many on their schedule. We held them to 10 points until we ran out of gas. If we had had more depth, it would have most likely been 3 points and it would have been a matter of winning on field goals.
